Turbo kits or rebuild

Hey all, what can you guys tell me about turbo kits, are they reliable? Can they not be boosted passed 8 psi? etc etc etc, or would you rebuild? Im not after racing performance just a lil more power. Ive just come out of a turboed sr20 and expected more out of my b16a vtec, i was told you can expect a power gain of 75-100 hp on stock internals. soooo guys which path would be more beneficial??????????

IF your motor is still in good condition, then just wack on a nice turbo kit and you'll be hitting about 160kw -/+ . Stock internals will handle about 9psi up to the tuner.

B16a's are very a great platform for turbo's. There are few ppl here that has a b16a turbo

yeh if your b16a is still healthy, you can bolt up a nice kit an get some nice gains. make sure you get good quality parts for reliablity and good gains. i wouldnt push it above 10psi on stock engine.

turbo kits all depend on the kits them selves.
Try to make sure you get a good branded turbo and not a made in china crap. THere have been a few guys getting burnt on those.

If your only chasing abit of power try an AVO turbo kit, tired and proven.
Stock internals are fine also, your tuner will let you know how much boost you should run on your setup

P.S what did you expect from a 1.6 ltr, there is no way it comes close to a boosted 2.0ltr!

If you rebuild your motor it will last longer (if done properly) but you not really going to get power increases...

Yes a turbo kit will give good results (how long is a piece of string) .... the better results the price and the reliability will depend on the quality of parts you use and tune you get
