Hey guys,
I've been trying to remove my tacho surround to paint my tacho bulbs a amber colour, but the dash doesn't budge lol
Is there a diagram located anywhere on ozhonda that shows how to remove a EG dash?
I guess you have to remove the whole black part that contains the air vents / hazard switch / clock..
If there is a way where you don't have to remove the black part, please let me know!!
Thanks heaps

Hey man, there are two little screws in the top of the plastic gauge surround, once you pull these, you will be able to take that out.
This will expose the screws you need to get at to pull out the cluster, unscrew all of them and it just comes out...

Ah awesome!
so once i've taken the two from the top of the tacho like you said, I should be able to wiggle the plastic cover off?

Thats a negative... You also need to pop out your hazard button! behind this is 1 more screw that holds the dash insert in :)

I done this but the dash won't budge... :(
Isnt there some screws under the air vents?
Or is there just adheasive so I just have to give it a good tug?
yeh, thats right...
disconnect the battery.
undo the 2 screws on top of the cluster and take out the hazard light with a butter knife, i think a screwdriver would leave a scratch, and unplug the plug... and there is a screw in there, take that out.
the dash itself have 3 clips underneath. you need to try to lift the black dash cover out on an angle.
if you look under you can see them... the easiest to see is the right hand side clip under the air vent.
once you know where the clips are its very easy!
i took my dash out a few weeks ago...
if you want the lights to shine more clearly you can use nail polish remover and wipe the back of the gauges to get the colour off them.
this can also be done to the climate control section too...
so you can have the whole dash area the same colour, even the window demister and foglights if you got em...
most popular is red...
dont buy the bulb sleeves/socks that go over the bulbs, they fade and can make your dash shine pink, etc.

If you get yourself a workshop manual you'll save heaps of time when you are doing stuff like this.

careful not to pull the driver side air vent out first though..
use the hole you have with the hazard light out. and pull on that.
i pulled the airvent .. and well .. snapped in pieces ..
but thanks to super glue .. and patience.. it looks ok..ish.. =]
i have no screws holding my dash anymore LOL easy access yo.
hazard light out n bang bang.
oh oh.. and another thing.
BE SURE, you plug in the hazard light connector to the hazard light. lol sounds stupid but the clock connector can fit in the harzard light one.
and your dash goes balistic.. :/
and yes.. i did exactly that =]

there are 5 T5 and one that's a bit smaller, don't know what you would call that one t4.8???? the smaller bulb fits into the t5 holder (bit loose) but the t5 doesn't fit into the smaller one, i was WTF when i first pulled them out and tried to fit them in, so i had to pull all the bulbs out again to find the small one to fit the holder
