Currently own 2002 VTIs and over the past week the engine warning light has been coming on and the car makes rough gear changes, going into gear is fine but when releasing the clutch the car for a split second will lose power or like a dropping of the clutch type of effect.

I have taken the car to honda and they said its the first time they have seen this type of problem and they replaced the ECU and reset the computer which worked for a day but now its back again.

any ideas ?

cheers

just did a search and last month we found ants coming out of the grill..

When the engine light is on it means the car is in limp mode. this means that performance is effected. Gear changes, timing, ect are all altered thats why it drives like shit when the light is on. need your dealer to extract the fault code.

also.. most of the time if the car jerks.. usually the fuel filter need replacing.. try that first and maybe use nulon total fuel cleaner.. see if that works.. if not then go other alternative :)
