EG tacho problem!

I refitted my tacho after painting, and the rev counter does not work.

It hits about 1K and then doesnt move anymore :(

And also the speedo starts at 40 as soon as you tick the ignition over :S

WTF is going on? Do I need a new tacho?!

hey buddy i had the same problem, its because once you take the needle out with the pin, it wont ever go back in properly, if you pull it back out a tiny bit, or hold the cluster upside down so the needles' own weight pulls it downwards, you will find it still works. i solved my problem by just getting an aftermarket tacho. the same thing happened with my speedo, but i managed to put it back in so it works 95% of what it should. your best bet is to take it to an auto electrician so they can replace the little plastic slot that the pin is held in. sorry cant be of much help
