looking to paint the diffuser to matte black. Anyone know the paint code to achieve this? And with the matte black, is there a gloss just like when you paint any part of the car?

Thanks

sweet. Hope my painter will know what it is. Does the matte black come glossed? Like when you paint any part of the car which gives the smooth feel?

It's called matte for a reason lol.

Matte means dull or lusterless.

Hi Shimian,

I assume that by 'feel' you mean 'to the touch' then yes, any matte/flat color can be 'smooth'. There are special matte/flat-finish clearcoats available that can be applied to this affect. Just remember that it doesn't just stop at the basecoat :-)

Anyone know the paint code to achieve this?

It differs from paint brand to paint brand, i.e. Dupont, Glasurit, PPG, House of Kolor, etc. Go review some color chips.

Google "Novitec Rosso Ferrari F430 Tu Nero" and maybe you might consider differently but to each their own :-)

Thanks guys for all the replies.

Svelte: Yes i mean as in 'touch'. Btw, car looks hot. That black/grey color i think looks mad. But what am i going to say to the painter? Hey can you paint my diffuser like the Novitec Rosso Ferrari F430 TuNero? :D

What you do is take a step back and actually read what I said earlier :p

If even Google is beyond you  use the golden rule:

Matte black or flat black same thing. They will know what you are talking about no need for paint code.

Then tell them to NOT to leave out the clearcoat. If they're not completely incompetent, that's what they'll do anyways. If they insist otherwise, don't let them anywhere near your diffuser. The only aspect that should be matte is the way it looks, not feels.

Its just that the Novitec Rosso Ferrari F430 TuNero doesnt look like matte black compared to some other pics.
Ive never seen matte black in person before so i dont know whether it has clearcoat or whether it was bare paint. That was the word i was looking for (clearcoat), as i called it gloss in the previous thread which was my mistake. But now you know what i mean. :D
