how much kw has your accord got?

1994 Accord VTi-S
Some pod filter for a nice induction noise (no heat shield, cos it doesnt matter!! Haha)

If i actually drove a fast car i might vote differently, but i drive an Accord... Unless you do an engine swap (H22A) or turbo, any 'go fast mods' you do will only allow you to *Keep up* with a V6 Commodore... Not worth it in my opinion

On the other hand, dump it on a set of nice rims, with a fat AV setup, and i'll be happy :)

94 Accord Vti
CAI, AXLE BACK EXHAUST< TANABE HYPER MEDALLION MUFFLER
80.4kw @ wheels

94 Accord Vti hybrid ( H22A )
CAI, 2.5" CAT BACK EXHAUST < TANABE HYPER MEDALLION MUFFLER
110.3kw @ wheels ( car running like shit, incorrectly connected vacuum lines, extremely erratic idle, running super rich, car over heating)

have fixed those problems and changed the intake and it feels like it has way more power now cos it goes so much better, will dyno it again sometime.

wahh how u get 80.4 kw@ wheels for the vti damnnnnn i want that power LOL -- where is axle back exhaust LOL... is dat like after the headers but before the cat???

h22a accord

axle back meaning the exhaust is stock all the way from the headers to the rear axle and 2.5 " from the axle back.

dundas

Ohhh shit--- dat improved power --- wdf

it did seem to give more top end power with out losing bottom end torque but you cant compare the same cars on different dyno's, its normal for every dyno to give different readings. the best way to compare is a group of cars on the same dyno on the same day one after another.

yeah true hey-
well i got my yno from "shootout"dynodynamics" apparently their the best in AU or sumthing

Does how you run in the car affects the kw at wheels??

Checking with a mechanic once, they said that some general mods such as a pod filter actually slows down the euro...so instead i just got teins..

Yes - run in does affect kw.

In terms of general mods - get something that has been tested on a dyno to produce results. The K series motors respond well to cold air intakes. For the Euro the K&N CAI and Injen both produce more power on the dyno. In terms of other mods - yeah some are better than others. It appears people don't seem to get much more power by changing the exhaust system on the Euro. If you are looking for bang for buck - CAI and maybe the Hondata heatshield gasket are worthwhile. If Hondata ever produce the K-Pro for the Euro that would also be good but probably expensive!!!

Well, the tuner should try and use the gear ratio closest to 1. to actually get the most accurate reading from a dyno.. Accord Euro's closest gear to 1. is the fourth gear and it maxes out at around 180+ Km/h...

Like Yfin said, use CAI that are proven and also, A POD or CAI kit will cause most car to lose power on the lower end of the RPM, but improves on the high end and VTEC engines love high end :)

The exhaust don't really provide that amount of power you will wish on the Euro.. The Fujitsubo cat back kit only gives an extra 3HP @ the wheels for the Euro from memory.. Not a bang for your buck investment, more like a bling factor to look nice...

you can't compare dyno figures...

perfect example...
euro with mods got 112kw atw but a stock euro got 114kw atw...

MrThanh

dyno figures should just be used as a personal guide/braggin rights IMO. for testing mod effectiveness, take it to a track and do the 1/4.

dundas

well its still a good guidline to see what others are getting... Just to know how i compare to others...even if the readings have like +-3kw LOL all good.

Tofu
30-08-2004, 07:10 PM
nah dude...
mods such as intake, vafc2 and exhuast should get you more than a stock euro anyday

+- 3kw is optimistic error for dynos, on the weekend i saw a car get 127kw when the last time on the dyno it got 99.8kw. Between the two dynos it had a major service...one hell of a service hey!!

dundas
30-08-2004, 08:01 PM
damnnnn i want one of those services ahahahaha

how;d your dyno go anyways man...?

poid
31-08-2004, 08:36 AM
i didnt get on, there was a good chance the operator would break my cooler piping bringing it off the dyno cos it hangs quite low, so i didnt wanna risk it

Ohhh damnnnz dat sucks then

um my car makes 0 kw for the past year.
Anyone have any estimates of wat my car will make? i dun have a clue.
td07 or ITS sc61, cooler, 3'' exhaust, 700cc inject, pistons, rods, cam gears, mild port ect...????
I need a real estimate running prob 20+ psi

h22a accord
31-08-2004, 06:14 PM
i estimate bout 200kw

poid
31-08-2004, 06:16 PM
at 20psi, who knows...300+kw if you build it right

CHU85
31-08-2004, 06:38 PM
of course its all built right. Sleeves from germany, walbro pump, head studs and mains, all gen. honda seals, clevite bearings.
i dunno. Wat are the guys running in the states poid?

PERTH_EURO

dyno's are only good if you compare on the same dyno on the same day.
They are funni things hey, cause on the day i ran my car peeps were running around saying the dyno was reading 30hp low

meh whateva, thats why i dont like em

As stated somewhere above, u cant compare dif dyno's.

31-08-2004, 08:05 PM
well all i can sayis, that i dont have enough yet

poid
31-08-2004, 08:25 PM
cant remember chubs, but i am going by a lude here that made over 300kw on about 21psi. So i would assume your setup is capable of similar

dundas
01-09-2004, 01:15 AM
300kw farrrrrrrrkkkk--- is there sum good torque?? hows da torque--

CHU85
01-09-2004, 06:30 PM

not too far off the mark now
