View Full Version : Model differences in the K24A3 Accord Euro

Was doing some research for my K24 project, and found something interesting. The Americans claim that the later model TSX's, 2006 on, have a different and superior K24A2 engine as compared to the earlier ones. Read somewhere that the K24A2-RBB4 heads have 1mm bigger inlet valves, cams have 0.9mm higher lift and 12deg more duration. Throttle bodies are supposed to be 4mm larger at 64mm with inlet track increased from 70mm to 80mm, pistons are also a little different in design to allow for the higher lift and duration. Apparently the rods and crank are improved too.

Does anybody know if these differences are in our Aus spec K24A3's as well, in particular the RBB4 heads?

I know my Aus spec K24A3 has a 60mm butterfly in the throttle body, and I have a RBB3 head, what about everyone else?

A Honda tech i know told me the only differences between an 03-05 to an 06-08 is strengthened conrods and crankshaft.

TSX gets a different head, block, cat and exhaust for 06 onwards.
Accord Euro gets only the different block for 06 onwards. We do not get the nicer, newer head, nor the high-flow cat and exhaust.

huh 06 AUDM has a new block? whats wrong with the 03-05 one? The power is exactly the same isnt it?

Yeah power/torque is the same only stronger crank and conrods in 06-08.

Don't think so,just the usual subtle improvements/refinements that are made in a model cycle.

Fair enough, perhaps it was cheaper to manufacture one set of conrods/cranks along with the K24A2 TSX engine
