HI guys, i hows everyone doing?
I want to import half cut k20a1 or B18c and put it into ag civic. I know it's has been done before with both motors.
I know that B18c is a lot cheaper to do coversion in, since most of it is just bolt on.
whereas K20a have to mod engine mount and other wiring problems.
With power wise i think K20a is more powerful and lighter than B18c.
Does anybody know how much money do i need to drop K20a into an EG ?
Or what other mods do i need to drop it in ?
Also i'm thinking of whether i should get an EG or an EK ? mates says that EK is a better set up car than an EG but in my opinion i think that EG is more lighter and looks better. However i do not like the drum brake in an EG, i prefer disc brake.
What are the weight differences between EG and EK and which is a beter option ?
Thanks guys

Use the search button please, this topic has been covered.
EG is lighter than EK
Ek is newer chasis
Upgrade the drum brake to disc
B18c conversion will cost ya 5k stock with mods you'll be looking at 7-8k
K20a 13-15k with i/e/h with ecu(k-pro)
Take your pick

lol fatboyz39 covered it pretty well,
it pretty much comes down to which car looks better to you,
you would have to upgrade brakes anyway.
it really depends on ur budget, if you got $10K+ to spend on top of buying the car, than why not go K series, theres more potential.

Just look for a car with the mods already done! Cheaper like that most of the time and just mod it :)

EK with a B18C....guess that would give it a good balance of power and handling.. K20A so not worth it..might as well get a ITR...EG..just too light and i personally don't like the idea that the car is flying...feels better when its more planted..and a wee bit heavier

If you think that the EG looks better, than get that... no point getting a car which you think looks meh, or shit~!
Pending on your wallet, b18c = cheaper, k20 = expensive.
To give you a rough figure, k20 transplant installed = ~$15k.
Above all things, have a dig around and search :)

Thanks for the reply guys. I wonder what's the best 1/4 time on NA B18c on an EG or EK ? Can K20a1 in EG or EK run 11s in NA form ?

^ Yes. But I doubt you're going to come across many people with those setups, on here, some will be close, but the guys who do actually run those time's I would believe that they are the proper drag teams with sponsorships etc

Are you talking stock internal motors with bolt on mods ? fully built motors? full slicks / DOT street tyres ? Stripped out car ? Street registered ? Daily driven ?
Our Daily driven EG hatch with K24A3 Euro motor - stock untouched internals + bolt on mods ran 12.2 sec down the 1/4 mile. Also our other EG hatch with JDM K20A + bolt on mods ran 12.3 sec down the 1/4 mile.
fatboyz/benson proved that a dc2R / EG hatch with B18CR stock motor + bolt on mods can run mid 13s easy.

^ and yes as Yonas stated, you're question is quite broad, stock internals / aftermarket ranging from everything, or just bolt ons and tunes etc, but non the less people have done it and are still doing it and getting quicker

are you talking about a manual conversion into ur eg sedan?
honestly its a waste of time and money.
ull save alot of both time and money just selling and buying a manual car.
plus type r(b18c7) never came in auto. not really sure on the b18c2(vtir)

if you did a conversion u would get a gearbox with it
also to elaborate on the original question of brakes... most parts from the DC2 will bolt onto the EG, i know... i have both cars (well the DC2 is dead now but u get the jist)
u can get a rear disc break conversion off either a DC2 (vti-r for 4 stud and an all four points type-r conversion for 5 stud) or u can get them off a vti civic? or something like that, i would also get some slotted rotas for the front, im not a big fan of drilling rotors tho - ive seen them crack =/
good luck =)
