Hi All,

My 03 honda accord euro air con is cold (working properly) for the first 5 mins when I start the car in the morning, or start the car when it is cool down. After the couple of mins the air con is not cold anymore (just like the fan is on).

Does anyone has idea what could be the problem is?

Any help is much appreciate.

Thanks

Check the compressor, odds are its sezied and fu*d,check the front pull on the compressor you should be able to turn it with you hand WITH THE CAR NOT RUNNING..

from memory, my 04 has just one belt which runs everything.. i doubt youd be able to turn it by hand.

if youre not an aircon expert, i suggest you open the bonnet, turn the car on without the aircon, stand in front of the idling engine and get somebody to turn the aircon on for you while you watch and listen.

ordinarily, the aircon will place a larger load on the engine and you should hear the sound of the engine idle change slightly as well. (and if you are extra observant you should hear and see it pull in as well)

so u mean the compressor pull in only when aircon turns on?

See your dealer or an air con specialist,it could be low on gas or it may have a slow leak.

For some reason I pushed the A/c button several times whenever it is not cold and now it seems ok after the last push. I am avoiding to touch the a/c button now but rather turn it on with pressing the fan. C how it goes.

Thanks anyway all of your comment.

On my previous car i had a similar problem to you.The air con system was found to have too much gas(pressure) in it and therefore had the same effect as not enough gas.
