gday guys i did a quick search and didnt find the result i was looking for.
just wondering if you raised the compression ratio in a b18c with either thiner head gasket or by pistons how would the engine cope with this?
would it be wise to install type r pistons etc.

all your advice and replies are very much appreciated.

cheers ryan.

well engine should cope if the car is tuned correctly and everything is installed correctly. I wouldn't use a thinner head gasket. Piston wise just be aware that aftermarket pistons tend to rattle a bit on cold start up compared to OEM.

Not all aftermarket pistons... Just forged pistons as the expansion rate is different. Ie: they will expand more with heat than cast pistons which will not expand as much. As a result, the forged pistons will not be as 'wide' when cold - hence the rattle.
