Im very confused on the different versions of LSD's you can buy for the DC5.

I don't know the difference between them and would like to know which one would suit the different needs of our (FFD/FWD) drivers better.

So could the 1 way, 1.5 and 2 way be explained.

Thanks:thumbsup:

DC5r has Viscous LSD.

Personally i would be looking at a 1.5 LSD, as it'll "lock" the wheels under acceleration... and half "lock" then under decceleration.

You'll also find good explainations on the actual websites for companies.

agreed 1.5 way is the go.. unless you are an absolute track nut!... i have herd a 2way lsd can make your steering feel really heavy (anyone confirm?)

Why would you get a 1.5 over a 1way on a front wheel drive??
benefits?

Because it would slightly "lock" the wheels when under deceleration... where as a 1 one has no effect to deceleration.

I've never really been to a track day, or driven a FWD car with a LSD other then what is in the DC5r... so i can't really comment on it first hand. Maybe PM Monty, as he is building a track DC5r and i'm sure he has investigated this matter quiet abit (i think he ended up getting a carbon style LSD and clutch)

I find my steering pretty hard.. everyone complains about my sterring wheel being too hard.. Drive my freinds Mazda SP23 and i was like WTF is this steering wheel. i Can pretty much drive with one finger.

So on a Stock DC5R what LSD do we have??? mine a 2003

DC5R has Helical LSD.

Most aftermarket ones are clutch type LSD's.

1.5 way is the way to go.

1.5 way is the way to go.

But what does it have over a 1way?

Why do you need lock on deceleration??

I think it helps with slowing down the car on deceleration. Thus less braking force required.

I'm looking at LSD also
