Gday guys

Basically wondering if the EDFC is interchangeable between models? are they only interchangeable for model/model... ie superstreet-superstreet.... not superstreet-flex ?
would a edfc from a ek civic with tein flex be suitable for a EG civic with Tein flex? are there any model numbers i can use?

Also On my EDFC there is a main power loomb. Is this there are 4 Cables

Yellow - ignition
Red - 12V
Black - Ground
Green - ???

Does anyone out there know what this is for? cannot find anything in the instructions for this

Regards Lyle

As long as the motors matches the controller and your other set of coils have the upper pillowball mounts, you're good to go. So you can go from Flex to Superstreet /w upper pillow mount.

Yes, wire the green wire to the wire that powers the little light in your ashtray, cigarette lighter or glovebox.

Are the thred sizes on the motors supposed to be different?... i have 4 motors.... 2 with 1 thred side (that screw onto the strut) and 2 with a larger thred size... and all my struts are the same ...

any ideas?

Are you sure your threads on the coilovers are the same?
You can easily tell if they are different by seeing if the thread goes all the way around continuously on two of the struts, and the others have 1 or 2 flat bits on the thread body.
if that makes any sort of sense

what are the part numbers on your motors and controller? On mine (old version with the big motors and silver controller), all 4 motors have the same thread.

i have 4 motors

2 motors - "TYPE KT42EM1-002 NO 6227. Tein INC" (these fit)
2 motors - "TYPE KT42EM1-003 NO 4Y03. Tein INC" (these dont)

so my question asks... why would a EDFC come with un matching motors?

That's odd. Maybe the Tein for EM1 had different threads in the front and rear. What car do you have?

Maybe the EM1 is a freak case with different sized thread for front and rear.... My motors have a different part number, where my car model is not specified, unlike yours, which says "EM1". Maybe your EDFC motors are an exception. :(

RRP for a new set of motors is US$150 from the US. If your controller is the black one, you can get them for a good price because of the weak US dollar. If you have the silver controller, then it is more difficult because they don't make the old motors anymore.

can't the old control unit be used with the new motors?
afaik, the control units only differ in colour whereas the motors are smaller.

also, this link might help with installation

The "EM1" is not actually the car model. It is actually just a coincidence.
