Now from looking at that i believe it might be a Renault 1-2 for a while.
Lets see what Michael can do.
David won't be able to keep up with the pace of the Ferrari and the Renaults.
Well done to Webber to get 7th

what a race!!!

one thing i can say about it
GO KIMI!!!

Dylan

i was really fearful for kimi, for the last 10 laps i kept my fingers crossed (literally) for him not to have a failure.

as you said racinghonda, kimi had the restarts down to a fine art. he could not have done it any better. he went as slow as possible because the michelins handled the low pressures better than the bridgestones, so he ensured that schumacher would be slow for the first 2 laps. schumacher had no chance for the second half of the last safety car lap to warm up his tires.

and montoya. i am proud of him going to mclaren next year. not only did he make the right choice on ditching williams for mclaren, but he is one heck of a driver. that pass on michael, the best of the year in my opinion. he just created a gap where there was none. montoya deserves to be up there in formula 1 and he has just proved to me that if he has the right car underneath him he is a definite world champion.

and whoa that crash at the top of eau rouge. i was so scared for the drivers, thats one of the worst places you can have a crash. sato was lucky he didnt get taken out by a car going full speed up eau rouge only to see him in the middle of the track at last minute and plough into him like heidfeld did to him at the A1 Ring in 2002.

Kimi definitly the best drive of the race, and its nice to see schumi get beaten again.

good on schumi to win number 7.

and some of those wisecracks by bill woods and neil crompton were funny:

CROMPTON: "and this is the scene of the first australian formula 1 drivers first race, who got hit in the head by a bird and nearly knocked unconcious"
WOODS: "i hope he got her name"
CROMPTON: "ahaha"
WOODS: "i believe her name was C GULL"

aha made me laugh. mainly more at the stupidity but it was entertaining.

yeh was smart with kimi takin it slow under SC cause the bridgestones wouldnt quiet keep the pressure up, it was a great race plenty of enteratainment and incidents but SCHUMACHER IS GOD, number 7 and going for even more!!!!!

oh well both HONDAS out....., incidents looked pretty bad

so it's all over for the year. i guess the only things to look forward to is shanghai and who gets second in the constructors between BAR and renault

any more news on the williams/button/BAR thing?

Bloody schumacher, stupid bastard! Anyways Sato got unlucky at the start and that pissed me right off. The race was good though, gotta love eau rogue, what a corner. Montoya did well and got unlucky near the end of the race as per usual for the bloody williams this season. Although it was a tyre blowout, he said that he noticed there was suspension failure as well hence the retirement. Hopefully he can do better with McLaren next season! Also you gotta feel sorry for poor Pizzonia, he had an awesome race, and to have a gearbox problem happen to him at that time was just purely devastating :(

it was a geat race, lots of action. can i ask you guys one thing:
what do you think of the boardcast by Channel 10 ?
do you guys think bill and the other guy talks ways to much ? i personally think they should just go straight back to ITV after the breaks.

i agree, if it wasn't for woodsy and cromley i wouldn't watch F1. they do a good job on ch 10 with RPM. i don't remember watching F1 on ch 9 in the 'good old days' with daryl eastlake and murray walker

was daryl eastlake and Allan Jones, Murray did the ITV coverage with Martin.

hey guys, i am just saying the ITV guys are much more professional, and they have much more inside story/knowledge/information. where as bill and compton base their information on the internet and the ITV coverage.

and i totally agree about channel 9, they are so crap ! you guys remember when AJ trying to sell his Trophies!! ahhahah

jackosimm
02-09-2004, 09:24 AM
yeh ill agree to that

well since the UK is the 'spiritual' home of F1 and most of the teams are based there, it seems more natural that the ITV guys are more technical and are more knowledgeable

as always, aussies are hard done by when it comes to motorsport coverage
well except the taxi racing :D

Just proves that the cars don't need to be altered at all.
The tracks have to be altered.

Spa is the best for overtaking etc.
But Bahrain and China are good (because both are new)
Bring back old Hockenheim and 27.7km Nurgburgring (sp)
Now they were race tracks!

Kimi did well, but he needs more victories under him before i say he is the next Schumacher!

Dylan

i like bill woods and neil crompton.

they are way better than darrel eastlake and AJ. they just talked about shit shit shit all the time. they had no more knowledge than the rest of us, so it was quite boring.

but neil crompton does a good "martin brundle", the tech guy with experience racing, and always in the know.

i like channel 10s coverage, although i would LOVE it if they showed qualifying. that would be awesome.

04-09-2004, 05:21 PM
yeh they show a bit of qualifying on sports tonight and stuff but no full length sessions. I reckon the best way is on the formula 1 website they got a live timing section with written commentary for all sessions over the race weekend.

7th Gen
04-09-2004, 05:54 PM
yes the formula one website with the official timing is best
if i can't get to a telly to watch the race i'll watch the webcast instead

F1 is definitely much better on TEN than it was on 9. Although I do miss hearing Murray Walkers commentry. He really added a lot of atmosphere to the commentry. And his bloopers were highlights!
