hi all

last night when i put the garage door down, i didnt have the car in all the way and the garage door came down and scrapped a little of the back bumper, now there is a bigish mark on the back bumper in the middle where the paint has peeled off and i can see black, like the red has been scrapped off,

what cheap option do i have to patch up the scrap?

yeah i will take a pic on the weekend, its not too bad, its perhaps 3 square cm in size.

My biggest nightmare!!!

I always pop round the back for a quick check before I close the garage door.

Could turn out nastier if the garage door is f**ked. Imagine the cost of fixing both the car and garage door.

its really up to you.
if you cant stand the look of it then respray the bumper,
or wait till someone bump your back :P

.. that's nothing really, just patch it up with some touch up and wait till you ding it up some more then go spend $xxx amount on respraying it

i prefer to go the patch up option, as i am a complete dummy with cars, can anyone tell me where / how i go about doing a "home made" patch up, ie where do i go by the paint, what other stuff would i need to get?

thanks for your help.

usually you get a small tube of the paint with the purchase of the vehicle. If not you can go to Honda and buy one, from memory I think it's under $20, you need a paint code for this option.
It won't look great, but you can get a half decent cover up job if you invest some skill and patiences applying it. Much cheaper than a respray for that tiny little chip of paint peel.

You can get any decent smash repairer to make you up some paint. Just quote the paint code, or take your car there and they will find the paint code and make you a small tin of touch up paint. Should cost around $20 - $30.
