Hi guys

Weild things happen again....

after i didnt drive my DC5R for a month, i did a service using genuine parts and take it for a drive

i dont know if i had forget how it sounds like before or its doing something weild now

when i rev my engine in neutral , the engine sounds normal and smooth, but the whole car only shake abit at 1-1.2K, other then thats, everything seems fine
(my car is fully stock besides the panel filter i put in, no cai/sri/exhaust

but when i take it for a drive, in 1st gear the car under load rev it to 3K and actually the engine noise is much louder and rougher, then when i step on the clutch when the car driving at 40km and rev it to 3K and that kinda rough noice gone, but i release the clutch back in and drive it hard, the rough engine noise come in again,....

does it sound normal to u guys? am i just worry too much?
things i am worrying
Gearbox ?
Clutch bearing?

or just becoz the car underload the intake sound is different?

anyone have a clue?

Perhaps something got blocked, especially since you haven't driven it for over a month it sounds quite likely.

On my previous car, when I left my car over the long weekend period without driving it and came back to use it, I found out that my injectors got blocked. The car was idling roughly, take off on first gear was very shaky and there was substantial power loss.

Double check the injectors. You can always get them cleaned for ~$25-$35 each.

Sounds like your throw out bearing on the clutch. If the noise goes way when the clutch is depressed, it'd be that.

Otherwise you may have a twin plate clutch :)

hm..i also though about that as well..
but if the bearing is gone or on the way out, can u feel it or anything wrong with the clutch?
but when its not in gear and ur engine is still running, u should still hear it right?

You only hear the throwout bearing when you are pressing the clutch. So if your rough sound only happens when you are pressing, pressed down or releasing the clutch and accelerating, then it should be the throwout bearing.

nope, i cant hear anything when i am pressing, or pressed or releasing

i can only hear when its in driving accelerating,

stand still -- idle, clutch untouched ,reving -- cant hear
stand still -- idel, clutch pressing or pressed , reving -- cant hear
driving -- in gear accelerating --yes
driving -- in gear but rolling -- no
driving -- neutral and rolling, and reving -- no

it only happen in this full tank
before was nothing...guessing

What fuel did you put in? It's not the throwout bearing then since it only happens when accelerating with the clutch released.

BP ultimate

wondering if the fuel is bad in that station...

Try another station. If you have 1/2 tank left, go fill a full tank at another station.
Does it feel like it is pinging or misfiring?

hm...not tappets ..
idle is smooth and normal

hm..maybe a little bit misfire, not sure on this one , car shakes abit when tap on the accelerator rev from 800-1.2K
car runs richer then before, exhaust is black..before didnt happen

Check the plugs first. Then check the O2 sensor (not sure how you are going to check it without a 2nd spare lying around).

FEL12X

will engine mounts making noise? i thought it would only vibrate a lot more if its gone..never think it will make noise, but good point here...

can anyone tell me if u can hear the gearbox / diff noise in a DC5R when driving?, i cant hear nohting but the engine noise in my DC2..

my car idles at 1k.. because of my mods and engine mounts on my car.. my car shakes at 800rpm.. but is fine at 1000rpm... You got any mods on your car felix??? james tuned it to 1k.. but sometime drops to 800 because of my driving or when air-con goes on idle drops occasionally and kicks back up...

but yeah if my car idle's at 800 i would be worried cause i know it shakes my car a little and i don't like it. but yeah my car idles at 1000
