Really struggling here....

I cant get the crank nut loose... I have tried a breaker bar with extension pole but I cant get it undone! I have been using a screwdriver to try to stop it turning but it isnt really working...

Any ideas??

How to the guys do it when you go somewhere to get a timing belt changed?

Put the breaker bar on the bolt, secure it in a position it wont fly around and damage stuff and hit the key (NOT so it starts, justs cranks over)

There is no "trick" other than heaps of brute force mate, good luck with it.

Also, make sure your trying to turn it the right way. sounds silly, but ive seen it done

^DO NOT DO THIS!^

The motor spins anti-clockwise! Most hondas run opposite (Counter-Clockwise) to other motors (Clockwise). Doing the above-mentioned will tighten the bolt even further and could possibly shear the head off the bolt!

You can try ECU-MAN's method here: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32257

Or buy a crank pulley locking tool from eBay or a tool shop. They will be able to order one in for you. T&E Tools make one - Tool Number: 4639. I've got a T&E one.

Mine was $60 delivered.

Here's one on eBay:

I'm having the same problem, but have put off doing my timing belt for a few weeks (can't drive the car at the moment anyway, so i'm not in a rush to do it). I've had loads of trouble with mine. Tried breaker bars and long pipes on the end of breaker bars trying to get more leverage but just keep snapping extensions etc. Tried a 500ft-lb rattle-gun (compressor at 150psi) and everything. Going to try a 3/4" Gun and heating the bolt once i get it drivable again... soon!

You can read about my crank pulley sagas here: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83592

Good luck mate!
