Just wanted to know whether purchasing cheap springs will adversely affect handling, ride quality or even possibly be dangerous?

I am currently looking for a set of cheap springs to fit to my dc4 and lower it approximately ~1-1.5 inches in order to fill the gap that the 17" rims have made. Yet I am reluctant to spend too much (still a jobless uni student)

I am quite a 'noob' and am unable to to purchase and fit these springs myself, thus can anyone suggest a place in Melbourne to get this done?

Also I read that the other way to lower your car buy keeping the stock springs is to fit (height) adjustable shock absorbers. Is this a cheaper/better option?

Just to clear the questions up a bit more :

1. What car do you have?
2. What branded springs are you using?
3. How much did you lower?
4. How much did this cost + fitments?

Cheers

your best bet is too just buy a set of lowered springs, if your only going around 2in or so then keeping your stock shocks should be fine. should cost you around 300-350 supplied (kmac or king springs)
most people buy aftermarket springs to go with the height adjustable shocks eg, koni yellow&eibach pro kit. i havent really heard of people buying height adjustable shocks and keeping the stock springs.

if you dont want to spend too much then just buy lowered springs, most places normally charge 100-150 to fit the springs but if you can do it yourself, save yourself a couple bucks and go get a wheel alignment after when your done, try searching up for people who are selling 2nd hand lowered srpings for integras as well im sure you'll find plenty.

Awesome, so the what I'm after is "lowered springs". Might check out a jap import wrecker.

Thanks for the info!
