6/6.5 inch front and no rears in most models. some (vti i think) had rear speakers. i do not know there size and if there was speakers in there wouldn't upgrade them. instead i would put the money that would of have been spent on them towards better front speakers cos they are the one that you listen to and matter most.

alot of peple put 6x9's in the parcel shelf tho. i again wouldn't waste my time the money could be better spent.

Are you sure bennjamin? I have a GLi and it has front and rears.

I duno about this standard 6 inch fronts. I just looked at mine and the rears were 5.5" or 6" and the fronts are 4" at best (all paper cone Pioneer).

i lie not. its got the plastic plug on the back of the speaker, and i easily fit my 6" speakers at the front. and the standard speakers are the same size as my aftermarket ones i put in. it didnt have the shroud behind the speakers, so it was direct bolt-in.

only sure about the 6 inch front bit :) I stand corrected / ammended - the Gli came with rear speakers too. Actually all "later" EG's came with rear speakers.

All i know is the Si and breeze didnt come with rear speakers :)

Can someone measure the front stock pioneer paper speakers ?

ok my stock speakers shat themselves so i just got 4" alpine ones for up front, and they fitted perfectly in the little plastic housing thing which then screws into the door. so you dont use the plastic bit for 6" speakers? im totally going to buy 6" speakers with my next paycheque haha

they are 6" or 6.5" (they are the same, both fit the same size hole) i am sure of it. they weren't 4" in mine. as for the rears if i had them i'd do the same and replace them with non speaker panels

i have 7" fronts and they fit fine into factory spot

na dude, mine didnt come with that black plastic housing. i tried fitting 6.5" at the front but couldnt without modification. so i just put the 6" in. i wish the Si came with speaker pods for the rear, instead i had to mount into the parcel shelf:thumbdwn:

i've fitted 6.5" to my fronts easily, the speakers came with spacers (i think 5mm) i didn't need to mod anything on the doors, window winds down without hitting the speakers.

bennjamin

yes you can fit 6 inch speakers.

You take out the inner black plastic mount , and make up some sort of MDF or plastic mounting for the speaker. You then mount it with the magnet thru the stock hole. Easy with abit of work.

what are you guys mounting the 6" speakers to in the front?

i mounted mine straight to the door frame, no spacer needed. holes were already drilled from factory

How does that go? I didn't think that would be too crash hot, but if it's worked for you I stand corrected.
Without a spacer my 6.5" speakers would not have fit.
Are all 6" speakers the same depth?

no all depends on what brand of speaker really the better the speaker the bigger the magnet, which in tale gives the cone better air to breath so you get better response from your speaker......as Bennjammin said take out the black plastic spacer and re make one yourself...however another way to do it as i did it was, i took my black plastic spacer out because my kenwood magnet would not fit into the spacer probarly and i just cut out the middle leaving only the sides for it to be screwed back into the door, took me 10 minutes at most...

yeh i tried fitting my 6.5" focla's at the front but the circumference was too big for the door mount. so then i just fitted 6" at the front, you could be on something with the depth of the speaker. mine dosnt have a big magnet, so that could count into the easy fitment
