my vehicle is making noises.. everytime i let my feet off the gas pedal it would make a metalish humming sound *like grinding metal* and wen i accelerate again or press clutch it would stop :S .. wat could this be??

NB: i have some sort of leakage in transmission and fan belt needs replacing? could any of this be the problem to my sound>>?

it happened to my old gearbox, i think u drop gear a lot, if u do, then it should be the bearing.

yep its the release bearing aka throw out bearing. when u replace it make sure none of ur clutch fingers are bent also as this will make the bearing start humming again after a while as it did in my car...

wat do u mean if u drop gear?

like getting to the light, u frop from 3rd to 2nd gear without double clutch it, so the car will revv so high once u drop to 2nd, that kills the bearing in long term

bud,
it could just be something vibrating in ur engine bay. maby intake pipe (if got one) just check around the engine bay im sure ull find it..

but if that was the case, then it should still have the noice when the clutch is pressed, so definately something to do with the gearbox or clutch fly wheel...
