hey guy, drive a 1998 ej8 and i have 5k now and was thinking of either
-engine conversion? thinking b series or even d? k20
-GT2871R turbo
i wanna get the most out of my car in terms of performance, i have 5k now and maybe willing to invest another 10-15k yearly if my circumstances are fortune and i dont crash the thing! lol some hard numbers would be good, been searching around and its hard to find an example..suggestions if any! ta

Why would u even consider a D series when you already have one?
You're fairly limited in terms of a B series swap,
Depending on whether you're doing the work yourself, you'd probably only be able to aford a b16a, b18b, b18c2 or a b20.
Forget the K, you'd need at least 12-15k for it installed.
Turbo - you might be pushing it with 5k - shit goes wrong, and you'd have nothing to fix your car with.
And here's another thing i dont understand... you're able to fork out another 10-15k.... why dont you just save up a yr or 2 and buy something better than an EJ8??

Chuck in a b18c. Dont go b16a cause Em1 has em, mgiht as well buy a EM1 if you want a b16a. Be a little different and get a B18c.

How long is a piece of string?
Search up a bit mate... so many variables... manifold, turbo choice, psi, fuel/ignition, tuning...
What happened to your original 5k budget? LOL
And i believe your motor is a d16y8.

A basic single cam 1.6L... NON-vtec.
EJ8s came with y8's.
EK1 came with y4's.

turbo would be best bang for buck i suppose. unless u love na then go that path all the way.
but yeah as q said make sure you have some rainy day money left over, coz things do go wrong and it could cost a bit to fix lol

EJ8 is the Chassis number or body type and 1998 obviously year of manufacture,d16y4 is the engine type/number.Same as mine.
Turbo ftw! everyone who has had it Loves it.You will have to change the computer (it is a manual right?),but that's not too hard.I'm sure someone can help with that
5-6 psi is plenty and not a problem with the stock internals of the engine. It's all bolt on!

depends what you want out of your car
if u want a honda NA screamer than go N/A and get B18cR
if u want turbo setup either turbo wat u got or start moving into toyota/nissan
EDIT: im starting to look at the EK style coupes, was it only the EM1 that come dohc vtec? what other models are coupe, and im guessing the coupe model no. isnt EK... is it EJ?
is there many b18c coupes around?
