Just Posting the following question on behalf of a mate.
Any help would be great

"Iv just noticed my thermo fans have not been comming on, the car is not over heating but I find it strange that the thermo fans are not comming on when the car is up to temp.. However the fans do turn on when I turn the Air Con on... But if I dont turn the AC on then the fans never seem to work..
Is this normal ?"

when the thermo fans come on they dont stay on for very long, sure your not missing that period??

after going for a drive and maybe giving it a bit then u get home sit there for a
around 2 mins to see if they come on. they only come on for like 10 seconds

if not

hey mate,
Same thing happened to me ended up being the thermo switch.
It could be a number of things.
Theres an easy way to check if its the thermo switch ,my mechanic did it. I canot remember exactly, he plugged the plug from the thermo switch into something and it came on. Some1 else please give more details as i cannot remember.
To make sure it isnt the fan motor, you can use jumper cables straight to your battery to see if it comes on (but u say it does so thats that crossed off the list).
You also have a fan relay in your fuse box. It could be this.

Best option is try to find out about checking the thermo switch as i honestly cannot remember how to, but it seems to be pretty common, it happened to me literally a week ago.

Having just diagnosed a not-quite-dead thermo fan on a friend's car I'll share a few experiences.

1. Try and jump the fan using a couple of wires (one to battery +, one to body -). To find which one is which, whip out your trusty multimeter.
2. If fan works, it is highly likely that your thermo switch is borked.
2b. If fan didn't work, it's highly likely your fan is borked (or you didn't jump wire it right).
3. If the fan didn't turn on when you jumped it, try giving it a bit of a tap with something hard (like a long extension bar) and try jumping it again.

Yep, step 3 was caused much merriment when the fan decided to kick into life. I guess the motor is worn and the brushes are no longer making proper contact and can sometimes be found 'in limbo'.

Just to clear up.
1. use jumper cables with alligator clips (much easier), there are 2 wires, a black and a blue. Blue is positive black negative. Connect blue to battery positive terminal and black to battery negative terminal (this is where coloured jumper cables help $6 at dick smith).
2.If you use jumper cables, it is pretty hard to much up the process of connecting the fan to the battery, it will come in at full pace, so just be a bit careful to where ur standing. If it isnt on, yes its ur thermo switch or relay.
3. If your fan doesnt come on, your motor is fkd. By hitting it with an object you are only trying to force it . I suggest using a lubricant in case of built up dirt which is stopping it. using force wont do much i'd say, these fans spin pretty fkn fast, if anything is blocking it, you will hear the motor wanting to turn.
4. If all this fails, open your fuse box, and change over your horn relay with ur fan relay (as they're the same) start ur car and wait for fans to come on, if they come on go to honda or wreckers, $47 oem.

check all the wiring going to the fans. This includes the a/c fan.

Yes thats normal.
It should turn off after a minute or two, depending on weather conditions.

haha oh well.
in the end its cooling down your car, not the worst thing you could come back to.however would drain ur battery if it was constantly on .
