Turbo or engine swap?

since every n00b on the block is starting one of these what should i and how much threads, i may as well start one too....

have $1,500.00 saved up and was thinking whether i should turbo or supercharge or do an engine conversion....


do you guys think its possible to put an ecotec commodore v6 into my type R?
i heard they are going for very cheap and it outputs much more than the type R engine.... the only thing i was concerned about was that it came from a rwd car and the type R is fwd..... i'm sure it can be overcome?

what do you guys think?

Turbo was a thought too but i don't like turbo lag.

my mate reckons i can get a mad turbo setup going for the money i have which can run 11's down the strip....

I'm so confused about which road to take and have tried searching the forums for information to no avail...

any help would be much appreciated :)

serious question? 1.5k wont get you very far dude.. all the custom fabrication that needs to go into putting that holden engine in ur type r would probably amount to more then 15k.. then u gotta get everything engineered and stuff its not worth it.. it is possible.. but IMO definately not worth it.

Oh please! Put a Holden Engine in your DC2! They are the best Engines ever... output endless amounts of power and soo light and amazing! They can rev to like 20,000RPM standard - no nothing no sleeving, stock valves and springs!

Seriously... just go out and either top up your VTEC. You can get more from Auto1.

Or just go to JDM yard and buy an aftermarket bolt on VTEC. I think Zi and Yonaz sell them for $250ish. Call them and they'll do you a good deal.

If you're just playing around with a technical loophole in saying that this is a serious quesstion (when i know damn well you're not) then id ask you to please stop and keep this to the lounge.
