Hi Guys. I am planning to get the fujitsubo exhaust (RM01A) for my EP3.
Any EP3 owners here have already modified the exhaust with this brand?

im still deciding what exhaust im going to b getting in the near future.

Im not really sure what to get but i want to get something good once so i dont need to change it in the future.
how would this fujitsubo type exhaust compare to say a spoon, mugen, toda, or buddyclub ??

im in the same position as steve with getting an exhaust in the near future or when the car arrives for me but i don't want something droney and have heard the mugen is meant to be quiet as well as a good performance upgrade but that's what i've heard and each person has a difference tolerance level to drone.

As what my understanding is fujitsubo exhaust would be as quiet as Mugen one. Spoon, toda and buddyclub would be too noisy for normal daily drive.

To me Mugen one is the first choice, but it's damn expensive:zip:

As a new EP3R owner, I think the factory exhaust is quite good, atleast it nice and quite...

But if I gona put a new exhaust , i would consider changing the header at the same time, I heard for our car, just change the header alone will get you 10-15 kw...

Anyway I do prefer to buy buddyclub as the are the only jdm company who race EP3...and their exhaust are dyno proven to have power gain....

just my 2 cents.....

How much would that be cost you (header and Buddyclub exhaust). Do you have any figure or video clip for the Buddyclub exhaust?

I found this post

http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85496

This guy using a BC header and gruppe M intake get around 135KW at wheels

and its very good result as still using stock exhaust...

After i read the result Im start thinking to get the intake first.....

anyway...

I ring up Zi from JDM Yard, and he told me the price for the K series header

cost around $1300... Im trying to get the price for the Gruppe M intake too

but he is too busy ( As usual ) to give me the price today...

but he told me if we can start up a groupe buy, he can drop the price a but more...

I think I would just go for the intake first, then the exhaust....since I cant do

both at the same time....

does the rm01a drone at all do you know? quite loud when cruising or only with foot down?

samsung001
28-05-2008, 01:41 PM
I've got mine too. I would say it sounds great too (especially after 4500RPM). However, i don't notice much different if talking performance.

I-VTEC---- i'm just wondering if you would have the same problem? Mine one will keep 'ding ding ding..........' after turning off the engine. The annoying sound will last for around 3-4 mins and it's gone. I shouldn't say it's a problem coz nothing harm. But i just wonder if you have the same issue.

SuperSteve
28-05-2008, 10:20 PM
isnt that ding ding ding noise just the metal cooling down ??

egads
28-05-2008, 11:24 PM
thats what i reckon. dont all cars make that noise. i know mine does at times.

typercivic
28-05-2008, 11:40 PM
yeh my stock exhaust does it. although have read about the rm-01a having some knocking issues when fitted so i picked up some J's Racing rubber mounts for $20 delivered which are known to solve the problem so that could be worth it.

Finally..........I've got the GruppeM installed for my EP3. I'm absolutely happy with it. I would say RM01A + GruppeM is a perfect match for EP3 if you're not after a really loud one! my car basically as quiet as stock when below 4,000 RPM (which is good for normal driving i reckon).... but after 4000 RPM, it goes and sounds insane (especially when the VTEC kick in).......however there's a known problem for GruppeM (not sure if it's just a problem to EP3) ---- IT'S RATTLE. I am still thinking what's the best way to fix it.

Samsung001, I own a DC5S, and funny enough, I have both the RM01A (courier rang and said its being delivered today - wohoo!) and the GruppeM intake. Mine rattles as well (very little), but if you put some padding it should eliminate the problem.

Also, you're not the only one having this problem!

EP3 Owner confirms rattle: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1575752
I believe he now has the problem fixed, so PM him :)

02-06-2008, 01:08 PM
GruppeM rattle also happens on DC5R. One owner fixed the rattle with foam tape. Ask him. http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1722696&postcount=332

typercivic
02-06-2008, 02:11 PM
i have the rm-01 on order and gruppe on the car now so it's good to hear that they work well together on the car. I have a rattle with gruppe at certain revs sometimes around 3K but mostly about 5K but a bit of double sided tape/foam on the scuttle worked a treat so give that a shot.

samsung001
02-06-2008, 04:08 PM
i already placed the supplied cushion tape there. But it's still rattling. I will try to use some blue tac. But i'm not sure would that affect the inlet air duct angle and eventually affect the air flow?

Typercivic ---our cars basically got the same mods....that's interesting if we go for a cruise  . I think i'm done for the mods as no more money to spend :zip:

typercivic
02-06-2008, 05:24 PM
it's a tricky one with the rattling. I went out earlier and got the rattle again so back to square one and it's impossible to find the exact point of the rattle as well so gotta keep trying, will let you know how i go with it and let me know if you come up with something.

Yeh it would be interesting but unless one of us drive across country not gonna happen ha ha. You done anything else to your car besides gruppe and rm-01? I've got those gruppe now along with lots of body bracing which makes a big diff and rm-01 on order along with springs.

.....with lots of body bracing which makes a big diff......

oh what have you got?

typercivic
02-06-2008, 06:30 PM
carbing rear tie bar, front under body bracing....6 point one. Really stiffened the body up and turns in even better now and have just put a strut brace on which didn't really do that much but holds the alignment in as well.

oh man......you've got more mods than me....good on ya......
I was thinking to change a set of nicer rim...but i don't think it gonna to happen coz it will cost me another 2k...... i would just wait for the tax return and change the tyres instead.......

front one. J's Racing....only one i could that fits with gruppe and air-con.

had to order rm-01a again due to issues with first supplier, costing a bit more but will have it in 2-3 weeks...can't wait.

The WS2 has a 'stock car' look and isn't loud on normal driving, but when climbing up the revs, it roars. I think the HKS goes under the lower control arm which gives it that angled look; tho it may likely cause some ground clearance issues if you're lowered.
