Might sound stupid, but just to clarify
1a. The photo subject must be of a Honda manufactured vehicle or part.
So if i take a picture of a Honda vehicle and has aftermarket rims, will that be allowed since the rims are not a honda part?

~Sp33~
11-03-2008, 01:55 AM
I think it would depend on whether you made the car the subject, or the wheels the subject.

Shimian

as ~Sp33~ said.

if the wheels are on the car and the car is the subject of the shot etc then its fine, same goes for any other modifications, but if the aftermarket part is the subject of the photo then it isnt considered.

And what do you win?

you can win wheels or tyres!!!

mr crex
11-03-2008, 10:23 PM
prizes should be finalised by the end of the week and updated next week

we might extend the comp a couple weeks also to give people more time to get their photos.

the purpose/objective? to get members creative juices flowing to take an interesting and original photograph, to show off their pride and joy and to win some great prizes from ozhonda's many sponsors. :)

What if it is the tyres and the winner doesnt want or need tyres?

If you want to have an influence in whether you want tyres / wheels then vote in this thread (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86110).

Once the prize is announced that is it. If you win (and don't want the prize) it's up to you to do whatever you want with it. Prizes are subject to availability and may change during the competition.

I've already voted in that thread. I was just thinking, that if I did win the comp, highly unlikely though, I'd be in more need of the wheels and not the tyres.

Most digital cameras and SLRs have the facility to process photos normally or adjust it to be black and white. Hence the reason why I said Lightroom (lots of photographers use this program to do resizing, sharpening, levels and/or brightness/contrast adjustments) is allowed to do the image adjustments because you cannot heavily photoshop a picture. For example, you cannot remove backgrounds etc on Lightroom where as photoshop you can.

a good example of lightroom editing is this (using a Top Gear style filter setting i have)
http://in2events.com/galleries/20071202_ozhondatopgear/content/bin/images/large/20071202_Ozhonda.com_cruise_to_Port_Melbourne_138. jpg

compare this to the original photo (slight lightroom editing)
http://in2events.com/galleries/20071202_ozhonda/content/bin/images/large/20071202_Ozhonda.com_cruise_to_Port_Melbourne_136. jpg

jdm kid - the prizes go by value, the tyres are worth a bit more then the HID kit.

albie - within reason yeah, not over the top though.

mitchman - we're focused on looking at the skill and technique involved when taking the photograph, not the skill or technique when post-processing, which is why we limit the amount of post-processing acceptible... so in other words, yeah too much man.

mr crex
26-03-2008, 11:43 AM

I have two questions re: Photoshopping..

1. Is the digital removal of plates considered acceptable?
2. Is colour change, ie - black and white photo with selective colour detail going too far?

Cheers.

mr crex
03-04-2008, 10:00 PM
plate removal is acceptable, colour selecting isnt...

we've had a few 1280x960 images, I understand that a lot of cameras produce in this ratio instead of 1280x1024... we've decided that 1280x960 will be acceptable aswell as 1280x1024
