there isnt really a major diff between well branded strut bars.
as long as its not a cheapo one it does the job.
id say get a cusco front strut

cusco n spoon are around that price. i reckon the cusco looks better =) but function wise, it's the same i reckon

Extra $150 gets you 5Zigen or Carbing. I'd say go for the 5Zigen. It eliminates the need for an ETD as it also bolts onto the centre of the cam cover.

whats a etd? is it relly worth the $150 by getting a carbing over a cusco

for a small fee, i will weld a solid metal bar from one strut tower to the other if you like

garanteed stronger than any strut brace out there

just ugly though

Solid braces are good!

Carbing has good stuff. Also I think Adrian at Toda has some other brand in stock too, the solid type brace that is :)

Cusco has 3 types of front braces for the DC5R.

You have the one above this one that replaces the stock brace.

and this one the Titanium one :

I think Adrian sells Rigid. It's a Carbing subsiduary I think.

Well they're not gonna create a product that impacts on their Carbing sales. ;)

How did you come to this conclusion? All strut bars are NOT created equal. Why would the solid types even sell considering they are much more expensive if they didn't do a better job?

simonnowis

iv heard the cheapo strut bars actually bend, therefore pretty pointless in strengthening the chasis. i reckon just get front and rear cusco/spoon or any good brand. but dont go too overboard with braces and bars cuz if the chasis is too stiff it can cause some damage.

The OS doesn't retain the OEM strut brace though. The one in red is the one to get if you want to retain the OEM brace. The Cusco site isn't the best when it comes to look for these.

STRUT BAR OS 322 540A OS 322 541A It is necessary to process rear trim.

i put a spoon front strut brace on my eg yesterday.felt a bit more responsive first drive, but not much.what im saying is,dont expect huge gains.your options are:
1:cheapo ebay - will probably bend from bad quality and bad welds and do pretty much nothing $50
2: spoon, cusco - tighten the front end and give a more responsive feel $200ish
3: carbing, rigid - really tighten front end and give maximum responsiveness $350ish

for some reason, seller said that the os 332 541a is the rear strut brace. and only 540A is front and also they recommended Trust Strut bar. Anyone can confirm?

also it says rear strut according to this website:
http://www.cusco.co.jp/en/car_parts_fitment/dc5_honda_integraacura_rsx.html
so i wonder, which is actually the part number for this particular strut bar?

Monty you can retain the stock front strut bracing when using a Cusco OS brace. We installed one in my friends DC5R half or so years ago.

STRUT BAR

Hmmm, we looked it it with the OS front I used to have. The plates wouldn't allow it. It wouldn't sit flush. Are there different plates available?

That's correct, they're a Malaysian company.
They haven't been around too long, 2002 or there abouts.
But they back their product with a warranty that's valid out here.
The product isn't a bling as some others on the market, but they seem to work well & are reasonably priced.
