just wondering, will i have issues when using a catback made for an ek4/9 on a d-series ek hatchback ?

i've heard that there's some issues with using an em1 exhaust on the ej8..
with the length or location of cat..

wondering whether it's the same with hatchbacks

so anyone out there who has installed a fujitsubo catback, vision catback, etc. etc. on their d-series civic without any issues ?

the catback is the same, but the length of the headers to the cat is different. if you are doing it yourself, you might find it could be a tiny bit short. i have a buddyclub pro spec catback, and they had to put about 5cm of extra pipe off the cat to clear the rear bumper, so it was minimal customising. all in all you will be fine

the stock cat would require modification anyways to beable to bolt to the b-series catback.

just get the exhaust shop to modify your cat to bolt up to the catback, which normally consist of only a flange and maybe extending the cat if its too short.

the cat is the same diameter, but a different length

so ur saying a D series cat will bolt up to a 2.5" catback . . . . yea ok. . . .

who said he is getting 2.5"? most catbacks for civics are 2.25, which will bolt up to a d-series cat

majority of jdm catbacks are 2.5" , esp when its made for "ek4 / ek9"

most catbacks are 60mm which is 2.3" closer to 2 1/4

Most likely will have to change a flange, nothing major

unless you are doing it yourself, it will take all of about 8 minutes extra for a mechanic to bolt it up to a d series cat. if they made the majority of catbacks for b-series engined hondas, most of us would be fcuked i would think

Most jdm exhausts are 60mm which is liek 2 1/4 inch.

Rarely do they make 70mm ( 2.5inch).

The cat back exhausts should bolt up to the car regardless if it is for a b or d series.
