hi guys just brought a new crx del sol and changed the oil the other day.
had a look at the oil filter and realised it is of different shape to the normal honda oil filter. it is fatter. do delsol's use different filter or can i just use the normal honda one?

whats the part number of the delsol oil filter?

thx

the fatter one was probably a after market one. like Castrol, Hamp, etc or something. You can use the honda one aswell if you wish.

no need for a part number, just walk in to your nearest honda servicing place and just ask them what you need.

aftermarket filters are fatter, but u can use OEM filter
i found that the OEM filters are way better, keeps the oil cleaner
ie after 1000kms on cheap aftermarket filters the oil would turn black, but OEM filters kept it cleaner for longer

15400rta004
is the oil filter part number from honda.
get a honda one, reason why is becuase it's smaller, much easier to work with.
lol.
that's what i reckon.

the OEM ones have better filter paper in them, I've broken a few just to look inside them.
The K&N ones are better again, bigger and better paper inside also.

But they are more expensive

can't go wrong with 15400-rta-004 with 94109-14000 (sp. washer) if you ever need it

99% of hondas use the same oil filter. there are a few excepts with old legends and (very old) accords

yeah geniune honda ones are smaller in diameter and longer in length as opposed to aftermarket ones (castrol, vavoline) which are shorter and fatter

just a way to differentiate them apart i guess - the aftermarket ones are easier to use with a oil filter clamp because of the larger diameter but the geniune ones are easier to twist with your hands (if it's not fused one)... lol so it doesnt really matter which ones u use.
