When im on a down hill and i let go of my breaks slowly, it starts making a weird croaking sound like its not braking.

Any suggestions why?

if it's like whistling sound, than it might be the air trapped between the pads and rotors, its common. the pads' surface is not flat.

what you can do is take off the pads and sand it down to a flat surface. it should get rid of the sound.

aight. ill give that a shot when i have some time.

if i cant find anything wrong with it might as well get new pads and slotted rotors when im not broke! :)

yeah, but it looks like your pads need sanding down still :p

Could be Pad wear indicators. Where when your pads are low.. they make a noise to warn you. Could be a rock in your Rotor.

That's because it's on the verge of overcoming the static friction. I get the same on my newish car both with stock and aftermarket brake pads.

i got that when i put in my new pads and rotors after a week or 2 it went away.

i guess its kind of wearing in still in that period.

does it happend along a flat at all??? cause i have the same problem mine soundz like its warped and croaks each time it hits... it was sumthing to do with the top slide pin on mine i removed it greased it up the noise went away for 3 months now its back lol.

because when u change ur pads or get them changed, you/they only remove the bottom slide pin the top ones never get greased up i'll try get a sound clip or a video of mine and post it up to confirm its the same noise

nah not on straights. bloody sound scares me when i park on hills. i have to pull the hand brake all the way up as hard as i can. if i just pull it up normally feels like my cars gonna roll.

my dads vp i used to drive while i was retired from work, we never changed the brake pads...

it got to the point where i was driving it everytime i break was the sound of scraping metal... very loud... felt like nails on a chalk board...

we worn out all the pads and whatever was left was etching the rotors... deeply...

i'd park at glen waverley to have coffee and i would park on kingsway and ppl would turn around to hear the sounds of scraping metal as i brake to park...

so embarrassing...

its like driving with no pads...

we eventually got it changed...

we had to replace everything... nothing could be machined and nothing could be reused...

wow, it was expensive!!!!

Agree with Aaron, mine does the same as do many cars I've driven.
