Anyone knows whats the problem
Sometime my vtec cross over is loud and sometime it very quiet but you still can hear it. I warmed up my car before i drove it, i gave it a hit and the cross over sounds loud, but later on during the drive its quiet.
can someone help me out

Perhaps when its quiet, its not engaging due to lack of oil pressure or other factors.

May sound like a stupid question - but were your windows up both times? Or up one time and down another...

It could also be louder when the A/C is on

i used Honda oil, oil level is good.
I got no air con
Windows was down at the time.
How do i fix the oil pressure problem?

Any chance at all it can be the solenoid?
how much litre of oil should be in there?

it its a solenoid problem you would have issues of no-vtec and then sometimes vtec.
When i had an oil pressure problem it was cos i used too small a hose for my oil cooler. Now have you done anything that can affect your oil pressure?
So long as you have oil at least at low there will still be vtec.
Oil pressure problems are hard to work out, could be lost assemblies issue, blockage in oil gallaries.
Best way to check, put in an oil pressure gauge at where the stock oil pressure switch is and see what the reading is. It needs to be over 60PSi to fully engage vtec

Nah i didnt do anything that i know of to affect the oil pressure, my motor is ODBIIa, it doesnt have oil pressure switch

obd2a motors do have an oil pressure switch. It comes up with the red light in an oil car. You should see it when it starts up.
The sensor is on the back of the block to the left next to the oil filter.
You can T piece it there to get an accurate reading of the oil pressure.
If you've don nothing i think you've got an internal issue, somehow the oil pressure is not getting to the vtec gallery

Have you checked for ECU Error codes?
Being ODBII, you may need an ODBII reader ($25+ on eBay). Or take it to a dealer and ask them to check for errors.

Sounds so bad man, i think the motor is just find, i just want to know why the vtec is gone more quiet, but ill keep in mind about the oil pressure, ill get a gauge to double check.

This could all be coincidental. VTEC needs oil pressure. If you boot it from start, VTEC should be loud on changeover due to max oil pressure. If you build up revs first, then boot it, the VTEC is not so loud because when you boot it you build up oil pressure and you're probably past the changeover point so less noticeable.

Don't base it only on sound. On some days I can't hear any vtec, and on other days I hear it very clearly.
Start from the basics.
1) Do you have enough oil?
2) Is your engine warmed up?
3) Is your soleniod working?
4) Do you have enough oil pressure?
5) Are your spark plugs and leads good?
6) Do you have enough petrol in your tank?
7) Have you replaced your fuel filter (due 80,000km)?

I also noticed that my vtec takes awhile to kick when i just start the car, I have to wait until it reaches the correct temperature then vtec works,
Is that normal?

maybe when u hit out of ur street its quite but durning the drive maybe ur out on a main road or a hwy thats why it may sound small

nah i mean when you just start the car and you start driving, how long will you have to drive until vtec starts working?

Whats the ecu pin out for oil pressure? More easier to work from there.

Yes that is correct, vtec will not work if you are below something like 10kmh, water temp is too low, oil press is too low, oil level is too low, after about 30sec idle and 2-3 min driving it should work fine. did you check the vtec solenoid, put 12v+ directly onto the grey plug coming out of the solenoid itself and tell me if it clicks.

vtec works man, 5-7min drive then it works, is that normal?

yes, stress less

yes, if u got no thermostat or a low temp thermostat then it will take longer before vtec starts working, yours is pretty normal but a little late, check Your thermostat or change it while your at it, there like $25 or something, it may be stuck open a little, other than that i dont think its something to worry bout.

Thats normal.
secondly, vtec crossover will engage differently at high/low loads, its probably nothing. If your engine light is not coming on I wouldn't worry about it.

that's normal, its a fail safe so that you don't kick the car too hard when its cold
