Unleaded in a premium car

i think i poor unleaded into my tank... but it was only 10 bux.. will this affect my car ?

factory engines are tuned to be able to accommodate ppl who do that whether it was by mistake or they're just complete oblivious so it doesn't harm the engine too much? not too sure of the technical side of things though haha...

i filled a full tank of unleaded before no prob at all

i guess as long as its not diesel it should be ok

premium is still unleaded,its just a higher octane rating and more refined.
i assume you mean you put regular unleaded in your car.you will be fine just dont drive hard on it,by that i mean no full throttle heavy load or high rpm pulls up hills etc.
regular unleaded is around 92 octane
premium unleaded is around 95 octane
optimax/bp ultimate unleaded etc. is around 98 octane - this is what you should use

the lower quality fuels burn different,so if you drive hard on them,over a long period of time,you could damage your engine.
you however will be fine,just treat that type r to 98 octane from now on

Don't worry... 10 bucks of 91 RON won't kill your car. Just fill the rest up with 98 RON, and don't use 91 RON again!

got cha... but petrol station around the livo area r smart now.. this is what do... on cheap days sun,mon,tues 98 octane is all out of stock =\... and when the prices are up(thur-sat) 98 octane is now avaible =\... that why i pulled regular unleaded there was no V-power or BP

Maybe you should complain to them... and if they don't do anything... write a letter to there head officer or the officer of fair trading... as what they are doing dosn't sound legal.

Your exhaust and engine will ping a bit from 91RON petrol.

Easy way to fix it is to buy some Octane booster from supercheap/autobarn and put a little in it.

as stated before, 10buks of normal unleaded petrol is not going to do any damage to your engine what so ever. no need for just in case octane booster bullshit. just fill up with premuim and it'll be fine.

go to the caltex/woolies petrol station at orange grove or petrol station at wakeley caltex/woolies. they always got vortex 98 octane. filled up last night for 139.9 :)

There are continued shortages of 98RON in Australia. It has nothing to do with price fixing. It's due to the refinery mishap a couple of months ago.

ALL 98 Ultimate is out in Syd. :( even 95 was out ... i poured 91 :mad: today. 91 has 5% ethanol, isnt that bad for older Honda models ?

OMFG **** THAT FOR A ****EN JOKE wow i went to fill up at BP nerang in gold coast on tuesday night/ guess what they were out so i said **** taht and i went home lol sitting on empty nearly ill drive my scooter ahahah :P problem fixed until petrol is back on premium ahahha :P poor sydney

I ran a full tank of RON91 in my TypeS and it was all fine.
no ping...but i ran Caltex Vortex in my CooperS and cold starts in the morning the car would splutter....:S NEVER using Vortex again in my life.
