View Full Version : My fuse keeps blowing

hey, i just installed my new head unit and every time i turn it on a fuse in the 'filter & fuse box' (in line with the earth and two power wires) blows! i dont know why and making me very annoyed? does an1 know wat happing? wat should i do?

check all wiriing. make sure you dont have any spliced wires hanging around. cos i had a similar problem. speak wires touch the car can also blow fuses

Yeap sounds like you've got a lose connection somewhere that is grounding when it shouldn't be. So as above check all connections and wires.

thanx guyz..fixed it :D just got rid of the stupid fuse box thing cause new head unit already has fuse...CHEERs

Just getting rid of the fuse won't solve the problem!

Exactly what i thought. The only other thing i can think is that there was a noise supressor on there also.

i figured it out i think... the old head unit was a cheap one adn had no fuse built in it so a fuse was wired in it. It was labelled 'Fuse and Filter' so was probably some sort noise suppressor. My new head unit has a fuse on the back of it already so should be good shouldnt it.... The fuse that kept blowin was a 750mA one as well which is pretty small.
