just a few questions, recently got extractors and exhaust, and cant remember what my car use to rev out to, ppl have told me it was about 8500, but since i put exhaust and extractors it only seems to be 8100?

anyone know what they are suppose to rev out to?

and also, im wanting to take my resonator out so its a little louder, can this be done at home, or is it best to take to an exhaust shop??

What engine do you have? b16a?

It all depends on the tune...stock tune should limit to 8500 but because you have the exhaust on it now the tune will be slightly out and yes you may experience a lower limit IMO...

The revlimit is an electronic cutoff imposed by your ECU. it shouldn't change just by changing exhaust and extractors. I thought the b16a cut out at 8100rpm. Since the Mugen "chip" cuts out at 8400rpm and that is a raised rev limit, I would guess that the stock ECU would have a lower rev limit below 8400rpm.

b16a cut rev limit is 8200rpm
and max power comes at 7900 rpm
to take out a resonator get a shop to do it

yeh stock rev limit is bout 8100-8200, but probly not the best idea to be hitting it anyways

The revlimit is an electronic cutoff imposed by your ECU.

If you're implying that the ECU cuts spark, then that is inaccurate. To clarify, the ECU cuts fuel.

Yup, it's called a "fuel cutout" for a reason. :)

Edit: I hope that your ECU is electronic. Mine is...

have you changed wheels or tyre size since ? this can effect your rpms slightly ~ but not your actual ECU designated redline.
