I've been having a debate with someone over what makes a dc2r limited edition and whats just a plain dc2r. From what I have seen its just a badge on a car. Wouldnt mind some input if there a differ between limited edition and just a dc2r.

Hey I own a dc2r limited but i don't see any difference at all, it is all a gimick man..... ha ha.
Depends on how 'limited' is defined. I would say something like the Enzo is limited - 349 or so in the world.
I certainly don't see how limited or 'exclusive' a DC2R is :p

He is actually talking about the particular naming of the car, the dc2r had a limited edition i gather. Probably just a badge, and maybe a extra cupholder or something ;)

You're all wrong. The only limited edition DC2R was the Indy Special, which came with A/C, Honda Access Pedals, and rear ITR window film as standard (I think rear strut brace as well but not 100% on this). In 2001 the yellow DC2Rs came with yellow recaros and yellow stiching on seats and on the steering wheel, while black got the red recaros. Red and CW cars stayed the same; but apparently 2001 models got the CTR intake cam (3 degrees more duration).

ooooo any pics?? mine's got a/c too :p
guys according to www.carsales.com.au:
Honda has released the Integra Type R Sport as part of Honda Indy 300 10th Anniversary celebrations. The Type R Sport comes with standard air conditioning and racing-style alloy pedals and is available until the end of October 2000
doesn't seem to have had any power increase. :D means mine can keep up!! woo! (if someone else drives it) :p how come its list price is cheaper than a 1999 Type R?
oh btw, if u guys are talking about the GSi Indy (Type R was 'Sport' not 'Indy Special'. again www.carsales.com.au
Honda Australia has launched special editions of the Civic CXi, Integra GSi and HR-V to celebrate the 1999 Honda Indy 300 on the Gold Coast. The Integra GSi Indy Special has alloy wheels and rear spoiler for no increase in the recommended retail price. Indy Special models are also recognised by a rear decal featuring a chequered flag and Honda Indy 300 lettering. The special editions will be available for one month from all Honda Dealerships.

hey guys i am not that sure but mine is black in colour with the rear tower bar and everything, but anyway It doesn't matter man, a type r will always be a type r and hence be it limited or not, they still have the same powerplant.

A mate bought one of these brand new from Honda and was told it is a limited addition with the Yellow recaros. As previously the yellow ITR's came with Black recaros.

Thank you for posting a pic of my car :)
My car is not a limited edition. It was just bought fully optioned with everything. From what I know, the Limited Edition Type-R is limited because there were only about 200 of them brought out and they have a few extras. I think jim80y pretty much covered everything else.

hence the limited version........lol
if only it was optioned with skirts and pods............ohh well.............i'll just get them myself.................apart from the above mentioned items for limited dc2r, i dont think there is anything else.........................
correction, the skirts and pods where not a limited item, just a genuin honda accessory

steering wheel stitching and front seats would get dirty so easily

the limited edition cars from honda australia arent really limited lol, for example i had a accord euro "limited ed", the only difference is the seats, the lip, the euro R grill, the wheels and the cluster(i also noticed all of these parts were in the JDM euro aswell as normal parts).
However when my freind went to buy his a while after the limited ones were sold out we just asked for the same things minus the cluster and he got it all. so yer its pretty much just secret optional things lol so to speak

the only DC2-R Limited edition is Dc2 Rx, it was a japan only model but they seemed to be sold only in 2000,difference's being clock, twin airbags, metal pedals, tweeters in both front doors, remote central locking and car number on the silver plate under the handbrake and bluey coloured carbon surrounds and electric folding mirrors all as standard instead of option
kevster
25-05-2008, 08:22 PM
i thought the limited edition was the numbered plate between the front seats on the dc2 type r , which corresponded to the engine number. i optioned my car with strut brace metal pedals and mats didnt like the back window sticker or stacker or a/c all options . blew engine up at phillip island so engine number isnt sequencial anymore .

Geez, I've been trying to look for answers on this CTR intake cam being on the 01 ITR for a while now. Thanks!
The reason was because a month ago I drove a stock 99 ITR to test the condition for my friend but found the car to be down in torque. My stock 01 ITR has a louder induction growl and more torque compared to the 99 I drove. Quite a fair bit.
I was lefted scratching my head since that day. :D
oh! I also have the Integra Type R film on my rear screen. Looks damn nice!

yeh you shouldnt cut into the roof for a sunroof because it weakens the chassis. Everyone knows this. Unless its from factory, it will be as tight as it gets

Sorry for bringing this thread up again but, I've just rang up honda the other day regarding the cams on the 99-01 models and they all have the same part number for the cams. Can anyone confirm why it is said that the 01 models have CTR intake cam???

The limited edition... has more VTAKs than the stock one.
