Amazing race, without the drive through penalty for Ruebens could have been better, McLaren looking strong, BMW have been sand bagging over testing and will challenge Mclaren and Ferrari on the podium.
We not doing tipping this season?

do u reckon massa had the right to just run into coulthard? i mean coulthard was taking the corner by going thru the apex and kissing the kerb like so many others have done.. but massa just straight shunting him.. i reckon he should be penalised grid spots in malaysia. LOL @ coulthard "if he doesnt (take responsibility) i'll kick a few colours of shit outta the little bastard"

But there were only 8 cars left at the end so the result really isn't that impressive.

At least get his name right. It's Ross Brawn. And as he said in an interview before the race, he has very little input towards the 2008 car. He has been signed to develop the 2009 car for Honda.
Overall, as only 9 cars finished it wasn't a great result.I think there may be more to come for Honda in the stewerds office too. I do feel sorry for Heki Kovalienen. He was consistantly quick and was swapping fastest laps with Cubica and Hamilton.
You expect a few mishaps in the first round but it's clear that the Ferrari engines have gremlins to be worked out. Kimi's retirement appeared to be strategic. If he were to finish and replace the engine he'd lose 10 grid spots in Malaysia. I think Ferrari expect to be quick there if their strategy to retire indicates anything.

Oh confirmed now? I speculated that in my post above. Rightly so. Honda were far from professional at this GP and honestly didn't deserve the points.

just got back from the gp was ok day but geez was it hot, almost went home before the race. Barichello did extremely well, kept pushing the whole day, pity about the 10 sec penalty would have finished 2nd otherwise cos was 3rd at the time, i believe the pit entry was ok but he left the pit when the lights we red saying the pit is closed... bugger.. honda unlucky again! team aguri did well of the start, gaining about 9 spots! anyway funny comment on one of the jap drivers that took someone out... "some kamakaze thing just came along an took me out (went something like that, thought it was funny)any way the ferrari supports are all sooks the whole day as soon as a ferrari car went out they would swap and support raikonnen, then back to massa then back to raikonnen hating the honda car (barichello) then when there were no raikonnen and massa etc they liked barichello. support you team for fcuk sake! honda will be good in 2 years time.. watch out its comming together hopefully, toyota was doing well at the start too.
porsche cup race was good ... how racing should be, cars equal, up to driver skill, the new orange was pretty sweet, pitty it didnt finish well and didnt have a honda motor in it!!
aussie race cars were ok, v8 were good as usual, i rekon they need a better track out here, a proper track not a shitty track circuit.

yeah your not allowed in the pit lane to refuel or tyre change under safety car until the lane is declared open and the green lights are on.
it wasnt honda's fault though, telecast on 10 pointed out that honda brought him in because it was either refuel and cop the penalty or have him run out of fuel on the track because he only had a couple of litres left and was due to pit that lap.just unlucky that the safety car came out.
good race though, crazy high attrition rate.webber is a good driver but something always always goes wrong.aparently it was a dodgy right front brake rotor that failed in qualifying or something that stuffed him up,giving him gay grid position which ended up in him getting caught up in first lap accident.unlucky

yeah i saw that cloud of brake dust dust appear as he was going onto the brakes in Q2.. but i know aye? hes the unluckiest F1 driver.. but i still support him coz i know he would do so well if he had the right car under him
DOHCTR Coopz!

What's this about congratulating Rubens? Because he left the pits when the lights were red, he got black-flagged and disqualified... No points for him.

im pretty sure theres a red light at the start of pit lane too,so as soon as he went in there and got refueled(which he HAD to as he only had half a lap fuel left) the penalty was already imposed on him,not just because he left the lane.your only allowed in under safety car before its declared open if your doing repairs, not to refuel.but they had no choice.
it was a brilliant drive from him and would of been a great result for honda, but unlucky with the safety car

What's the penalty on going in during a closed pit? I know that if you leave the pits during the red light you cop a black flag because of safety reasons. What about going in? Is it a black flag offence or just a 10 second penalty (since it is not safety-related)?

entering pits when its closed is 10sec stop/go penalty...
leaving the pits when its closed is a black flag..
because sometimes during the safety car the pit can be open but then the exit closes because the train of cars comes close.. so u must wait at the pit exit until the light goes green (like robert kubica did in canada last year)

Thanks for that. Looks like Rubens owned himself this weekend. :zip:

Honda did very well with the new car IMO. Even if only 7 cars finishes, RB ran consistantly in the top 8 (and managed to hold back a evil red car for 18 laps) until the final f*** ups by the team and himself. The car has certainly exceeded expectations.
