Whats the biggest mags that will fit on an ek/ ej8 coupe without it scrubbing ? Will 18's fit ?

17's/18's is where it starts to get to scrub territory depending on how sagged your suspension is from age and how low your car is. On stock height and down to about 1 inch lowered you can get away with 17's, with 18's you will probably have to roll the gaurds.and if your car is lower the problem gets worse obviously

Yeah, my car is lowed about one inch atm on 16's

Im curently running 17's with 205/40/r17 tyres on oringinal stock sus on a 1997 civic gli (EK), no rubbing at all even with hard cornering or cornering at full lock
things are pretty tight tho so i dont know about 18's may need to roll guards or somthing.

It's the tyre/rim width and overall rolling diameter that determines scrubbing. Not the rim diameter.

18's a piece of cake on my old ek hatch. i had very stiff suspension. after rolling my guards cutting away plenty of splash guard i had no scrubbing

i wouldnt go bigger than 17" on hondas

Yeh tis true, just made the switch to 17's cornering is nice (over the stockies with crappy tires) but acceleration has gone out the window, which is good in a way, cure for the lead foot which as a p plater and uni student i really cant afford :(

If your going for show then i can tell you that 205/40/R17 on 17x7 rims will work as that is my current setup... this is with everything else stock but as your only lowered 1inch im pretty sure it will still be ok... there is not alot of room there on the inside on my car so wider rims would be hard and due to the car being lower i think you will have problems with your guards wanting to eat your tires.
My honest advice is to not go any bigger than 17's, unless you are prepared to do some extra work, and if your looking for performance then 17's is not the way to go, some light 15's is probably your best bet IMO

Very true hence listing tire size as well, hehe it don't matter how small rims you got 4wd tires are not going to fit without some serious work :P hey at least you could say your unique.
As said previously, it all depends on how much effort your willing to go to...

18x7.5 with 215/35 tyres was what was on mine and it was fine. +45 offset. wouldn't recommend it. 16" race lightweights FTW put the money saved into better tyres.

I have 19"x8 on My EK sedan .. rolled guard and cut the splash guard.
rubbing little bit if i got full passengers.

i got 18s on my EK it doesnt rub at all with a full car, i didnt have to roll any guards car came rolled! woo
