Has anyone had wider tyres put on the front of their FWD? Apparantly while I was shopping for tyres, the blokes told me that at high speeds, a car with wider front threads will cause the rear to sway...

Are you doing any drag racing? If so wider tyres should give more traction on FWD cars. Other than that, it's not economical having wider front tyres than the rear.

you canno rotate them around.

in japan, heaps of ctr/itr has this combo, well in fact a fwd sports cars, fronts are wider then the rear, and for an example, rwd cars usualy have fatter wheels at the rear so i dont see y it wouldnt improve cornering, grip for a fwd?? and for rotation, you could but it will make the car look like a rwd :p
