hay guys, figured id post here rather than it being somewhere else, and being moved.

ive had a bit of a search, but nothing definative has come up.

im not very familiar with the inner workings of hondas, so please bare with me.

Im interested in an EG civic GL hatchback.

what is the differences in the dash/guage clusters between the models?

im planning on doing a b18c conversion sometime in the near future if all goes well.
it is a carburetted so im assuming this means that ill need the injected tank/pumps lines etc.

oplease, if there is topics covering these things already, let me know

:)

imo its not worth getting the gl and doing it yourself.
its only slightly more expensive to get a gli or si (injected eg versions),sometimes the same $ if you look around.
i did the carb to efi swap myself to put my b16 in.even doing it myself its pretty expensive to get the tank, behind dash wiring loom, little bits and pieces.
and its a tedious boring job taking the dash out and replacing the loom and it takes a fair while to do.
i wouldnt do it again.just get injected eg from the start and make your life and wallet breath easier

so getting an injected eg, all you need to swap is the engine loom then im assuming?

various things to do..
it's not that much expensive to get it converted.
it's just a hassle
it's better if u get a Vti to start off with
This is due to the reason
1.Wiring is already VTEC equipped
2.Has rear disc brakes to start off with
3.Already Efi

but downside is
That it cost quite abit and not many people are willing to let go of their Vti for less than 5-6K hence it is rare to find these

But on the other hand with Gl you area talking about
1. they are cheap
2. many available
3. power windows and such from factory

But downside is
1.You need to do the Efi conversion
(parts will cost around 300 bucks for fuel tank+pump and Efi lines+ rear wiring loom for the fuel tank) BUT! labour is painfull doing it DIY and itll cost quite abit to get some1 to do it
2.Wiring harness has to be changed (not the dash but the firewall harness)

Anyway thats the basic stuff
if u need help
pm me and we shall chat more :D

modifying cars has no profit whatsoever :) in fact i wouldnt be surprised if u lost more. thats why if you really are in it just for the fancy engine, by a honda with mods already done!
