--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

my front left tyre is scrubbing my inner plastic guard on tight low speed turns and if its bumpy too in a tight turn. my front tyres are slightly tucked into the guard. like maybe 1cm at the most. also i weigh like almost 100kg so i think thats not helping too (my car is rhd).

im using koni yellows with eibach sportline, i have no sway bars yet. i thought of the following solutions to reduced or eliminate wheel scrubbing during turning. remove inner plastic guard, use harder springs, install swaybars, roll guards. i would maybe use one or a combination of those. oh i almost forgot, maybe i could adjust my suspension up a bit lol. but i really like the look atm.

do you have any other suggestions? am i on the right track?

my wheels are only 16x6.5 with either +40 or +42 offset. my tyres are 205/16/45. maybe i should get 205/16/40 tyres?

It's either too low, your offset is incorrect or you may have some worn bushes/ball joints.

your offset is pretty much spot on and your tyres the right size for the wheel etc....so thats not the cause

could of been worn springs or shocks, but since your running newish aftermarket stuff that shouldnt be causing it,unless the stuff is worn or faulty, check for leaks

walk round the car pushing down on each of its 4 corners hard and see if the front left is noticeably more 'saggy',that might point to a worn bush or suspension component

if all that seems ok,swaybars can be used to reduce body roll, but its kind of a bandaid fix.but its still worthwhile.thicker front swaybar could help you,get a thicker rear swaybar too and if your cashed up why not go the whole way with a asr rear subframe brace and beaks tierod :)

ah okay. thanks for the advice. do you know if replacing bushes or ball joints are expensive?

Depends if you can do it yourself or not dude.

It might be worth going to Pedders or somewhere and getting them to do a full suspension condition/safety check, before you get ahead of yourself ;)

We're simply suggesting things that are possibly to blame.

Best off getting it checked out for sure!

thats a good idea too. my car is like 15 yrs old so i guess that would be a good thing to do.

Sometimes it can be the cause of a bent control arm. hence, one wheel could sit more forward or back causing it to be closer to the inner guards then one side.

Get a spanner and stick it in between the arch and the wheel and measure if you can get the spanner in between. check both sides fronts. if its not even then that might be the problem. because some people have minor accidents at the front and bend a control arm but its barely noticable.
