Keep them oiled and clean and they will be fine.

Dont run them dry is the secret.

I race dirt karts, use oiled unifilters. Engines looked pretty damn good come rebuild time, no real evidence of dirt ingestion and no 'shadowing' on the intake port from picking up dirt. Rebuild intervals are bloody short, but the filter gets as dirty as the one above in 2 race meets so its filtration properties can't be too bad.

apexi has been tested to be the best air flow and filtration ... K&N second.
foam ones are really not that good at all.

thats not true,
they tested the ASM
and 3A came out on top in both filteration and flow.

Best is Mugen CAI! :) Bit exxy...

another great way to make an intake.

Trust foam filter in a DC2R air box. Remove resignator in front right guard, and run 4 inch air con piping to front bar!

And there you have a CAI, and it's not too bad either! Mine was awsome.

have a look here

and if you've read the article on them in hot4s .. they say exactly the same thing.
actually 3A racing filters are also on top with execellent airflow and filtration as it's based on the same materials.
