View Full Version : B18 rocker Cover's

ey guys

im on carsales looking at car's to purchase and i came across this Honda integra b18c.


The engine bay looks correct and all .. but the side cover of the rocker cover is missing.

Is it bad to leave it how it is?

Does it gain performance LMFAO?

How can i purchase the missing piece?

it doesnt all show. ppl moon cut it to show there after market gears...
or possibly when the cover is on, the gears wont fit with it there.

i dunno if it was a typo or not, but its "rocker" cover, not rocket cover.

moon cut it, they cut a half moon shape out

do you have aftermarket cam gears on there,people cut that bit out because it allows you to adjust vernier adjustable camgears to change the timing of the engine,without having to take the whole rocker cover off.saves times on dynos etc.

its safe enough,the only risk you run is if a rock or something flings up underneath the car and gets in the timing belt area through the cutouts,say goodbye to your engine if the belt snaps/comes off.your timing belt will also wear a tiny bit faster just because its exposed to dirt etc through the cutouts.

you'll have to purchase a new rocker cover.

but the side plastic bit is usually just 'screwed on' so if he still keep that side plastic cover, just get it of him.

apparently it can cause things to get caught in the gears easier, like dirt or whatever...

yep dirt and all sorts of things get in there.
if you get a rock thrown in near the timing belt say good bye to your engine

you should also avoid getting your timming belt wet or any fluids for that matter. So it may be an issue when washing the engine bay

ive got mine totally cut off but i use quick detailer with a microfibre on my engine so dont have any issues

its so the timming belt gets more air cools down
