Do you know what engine it is, firstly. This would help narrow things down.

I'll take a shot and say its part of your intake resonator , by looking at the material its made by..looks very similar to resonator material..But i might be wrong

I am wondering if it is rear bracket

it is the inlet manifold bracket. It braces the inlet manifold to the block. It links from the bottom of the inlet manifold , and joins lower on the rear of the engine block. Dont remove it

If im getting this picture the right way around it looks like an intake manifold bracket and that little shiny clip thing on it is for the IACV/intake sensor etc cables to clip onto.

It should be further below that bracket.
This pic is from an EF i think, but it's right down the bottom/back (your B16B will be the same of course)
