An enquiry on my Jazz

hey guys, just a quick question about my Honda Jazz GLi 2006.

When im driving normally just pushing the accelerator then i let go for a second and then push on it hard for the 2nd time.

I can just see the Revs going up fast, the engine roars more + this kicking in feeling :P reminds me of vtec. im so lost about it and i wanna know whats this "thing" called.
