mugen intake is only about $1200 new. J's is about 1.8k new.

best mods to do on the car would be...

4.77 final drive
single outlet exhaust
spoon air snorkel/or air duct still intake
larger throttle body
AEM EMS ECU

i think with those mods will be sufficient to get the car to do mid 13s down the 1/4

Hey FLY how much difference does this final gear achieve... it seems like a PITA to remove the gearbox etc to put it in? Plus all the 'while the gearbox is off i might as well....' tricks that play in your head.

Yeah I might buy the Spoon snorkel to play with while I decide if a S/C is the way to go. Larger throttle body sounds cool how much? AEM EMS... I don't like the idea of swapping / trusting others people tuning aftermarket ECUs and the end of the day it just doesn't behave like a stock ECU. Thoughts?

Final gear is at the diff so u will get a chance to replace the LSD at the same time.

you don't need to touch gearbox to change final drive.

 thanks for that... I thought it was gearbox. It's still pretty technical to do yeah?

Yes lots of stuffs need to be done to install it correctly. Just prepare 2k for the parts and installation to be safe :D it's not cheap.

noob question

but arent the ratios on the s2k short enough without shortening them any furhter?

id imagine therd be alot of gear changing going on for a daily s2k with stock box..let alone a reduced final drive

but if its a track car, then def would be better

Why doesnt anyone lighten there flywheel?? I did this to my CRX and shit it revs much faster

^^ apperently lightened flywheel is death to our gearbox's. On deceleration it causes vibrations or something which causes the box to seize

yeh, it doesnt seem to make sense

flywheel is a flywheel, as long as its properly balanced, then ther shoodnt be a problem

but the only issue IMO is that it wont be much fun using it as a daily, the revs would just fly up so damn quick, and then drop back to neutral so much quicker than stock..i imagine it being annoying in traffic..

^^ well just relaying what i have been told.

I enquired about getting a flywheel for my car when my clutch was dead and Drhonda had mentioned that it wasnt a good idea due to the reasons mentioned.

FLY, Toda didn't actually say he had a problem but if he does I bet I know what it is.

These rumours start somewhere and through a series of chinese whispers (sorry, can't remember the PC term for it) become gospel.

I've never heard of problems with lightened flywheels and I've been around a bit. Glad to be proved wrong but I think if you look into it you'll find it's unsubstantiated.
