changing the clutch is an 8 hour job... just to let you know... honda where going to charge me $1k just to change the clutch... I said to them "oh no... i'm supplying the clutch and flywheel, you guys just need to fit it and put a clutch bearing in" they replyed with "oh you want a clutch bearing on top of that". I got it fitted for about $400-500 somewhere else.

I have a excedy HD clutch and toda flywheel, does the job, but it would be best to look into some stiffer engine mounts, as the clutch and flywheel is A LOT harsher then stock.

8Hr's WTF?!?!?

Indy from IS motor racing had my clutch and flywheel installed, with Oil temp gauge wired up within under 3 hours... ready to be picked up.

Shouldn't cost more than $400ish to install. If you are paying more you are being ripped off!

I have a Exedy HD clutch atm with a RG flywheel.
Did you know Toda Organic clutches are made by Exedy too. Apparently Exedy make alot of the clutches. So I would just go for Exedy.

Flywheels are all around the same price AFAIK ~$550.

Ogura Race Clutches (ORC) are meant to be good.

your car is a dc2r?
piece a piss the bseries and d series.

A5SET's car is a K series in a dc5, more difficult, you kinda have to drop the subframe of the car to take out the box.

Wow that was cheap.

I just put a spoon clutch + lightened flywheel combo.

And i previously had my mounts changed aswell (just back to OEM or something similar). Im fearing they will die though :(

...the clutch.

If your replacing the clutch you have to replace the bearing.

clutch, clutch bearing and you'll either have to get a new flywheel (light weight one would be best) or get the stock one machined. It would also be a good idea to change the gearbox fluid while you have it out.

Hence why mine will be done along with final drive before putting engine and gearbox back in my car. Cracking open the DC5 gearbox means either engine out or subframe off.

wuism
28-03-2008, 11:14 PM
agreed with monty.. i did the same.. final drive + lsd + clutch and fly all at the same time

i use ATS... extremely easy to drive, pedal feel is stiffer than stock due to uprated pressure plate.

Solid centre carbon disc, so a tad noisy at certain RPM.

Shift feel is accurate and bite is firm.

The Competition clutch kits come with the release bearing as well as the clutch alignment tool so self install is possible. If your capabale of taking your box off.
