Im going to be making up my charge piping for my car soon and dont know what size to do it in.
i want to keep it small diameter to try to reduce throttle lag but dont want to go too small.
My intercooler has 2.5" inlet and outlet and im not sure about my turbo yet because im geting it next week. Im thinking 2" turbo => intercooler then 2.5" the rest of the way? Or shoud i just go 2" all the way?

THe engine is a D16a3 and turbo a GT2560R an im hopeing for about 130-140KWatw

Thanks
LUke

which one? 2" all the way, or a mix?

If the turbo outlet is 2 inch. Then I would go 2 inch to Cooler then 2.5 to Throttle body.

The 2 inch to 2.5 inch to Cooler step-up is not ideal, but will be ok.

yep mine is also stepped up from smaller to larger. You don't go larger to smaller as it causes restriction or so i was told

To help smooth the step up i was looking at the metal conical reducers from jnt performace as they seem a little less severe than the silicone pipe reducers ive seen and are about the same price.
Do you reckon its worth it?

Also im probably going to buy all my piping from jnt performance to plumb up the cooler, does any one know of any where cheaper?

Thanks
Luke

Aluminium is not necessarily better. All materials have their pros and cons.

Mine goes 2" from the turbo and ends up being 2.5" at the TB
