hmm i was just wondering how much kms u guys out there run on a full tank. i do about 400 when i floor it here and there, and 450 when i dont floor it at all. my car is pretty stock, not much done.

drift exhaust

custom catback

cold air intake

planning to get hid kit put on too :)

anyway tell me what u think about my eg, show me your sexy eg's and how tell me how much petrol yours consumes!:D

eg hatch with a b18c7 ~ stock motor wise. Daily driving around 450 per tank but on the highway i have been pulling 650-700km per tank. Impressive !

b16a with 4-1 extractors, custom 2.25" exhaust + intake, forgies, chipped ecu (running rich atm) and the best it's done was around 380-400km. After a tune it should get back to over 400km

EG VTI Stock motor just cat back and minor induction mods.

Get 450km from tank when driving hills
550km when driving "Normal"
630km Freeway

Just keep it under 6k and you should save fuel :)

how do u guys manage to get so much kms.?
b16t in my EG. only manage to get 380km . rarely even in boost, shifting at 3500rpm and @ less then 60% throttle.

how can i improve my fuel economy.?

off boost or VTEC , most cars should do the roughly same mileage. Only difference is overall weight / wind resistance and tyre pressure that overly affects your ks per tank :)

Just be easy and gradual on your throttle and get the most out of ur car

If you haven't owned a turbo you won't realise how efficient they can actually be down low, off boost. I averaged 8.9L/100 according to the dash, or 9.1 according to actual calculations from a 2.0Turbo.

A.G.System

depends what you classify as hard driving. but sounds about right.

figures i quoted before were from

fill up - pump filler clicks off 2nd time.
empty - low fuel light comes on (due to needle being stuck and still havent got round to fixing)

so figures will be slightly lower than actual by 30 - 60km driving style dependant.

Hmm...

Lately ive been getting crappy milleage but have been doing ALOT of cold starts (car also needs service and tune up...)

Lately milleage=500k's with hard driving (really hard driving)

Good/average milleage not long ago was around 650 (really hard driving)

On a 36 litre tank (6 litres overflow)

Normal petrol used is the stuff cheaper stuff advised for the older cars :p

Best ive gotten was 700k's w/o going into overflow tank :D

Sorry to highjack but it's somewhat related...I've got a d16y1 conversion in my breeze, but the fuel light NEVER comes on...I've run out of fuel ONCE and that's because my gauge told me I still had some fuel left BUT the fuel light doesn't turn on EVER...there IS one there though because I had the cluster replaced with the VTi one.

How do you calculate 10L/100km if you are getting 450km out of a 45L tank? Are you running your tank to empty and getting stranded on the road at 450km?

As long as you are filling up til the pump stops on its own, then that is a good fuel consumption calculation. Even better is if you fill up at the same pump everytime, but that is not really realistic since we tend to go for either the cheapest station of the day or any petrol that we can get our hands on if there is a shortage. :)

i only get early 300kms before my tank almost hits the E.. i can actually see my petrol bar moving down while i drive.. it goes down a whole line and i shift at early 3k rpm
first gear is about MAX 3k then shift. mostly 2 though.

driving: DC2R, high flow cat and K&N filter recently had it's 70k service on sat.

tyre pressure 36psi was 40 before though.
rarely take it past 4k rpm so i only vtec like once in a week maybe. my petrol lasts me less than a week.. i only travel about 40km to work.

had a v6 3.0L camry that had done 200k kms on the clock but was still able to push 530kms off one tank (60L tank).. but that's solid pushing. average was 470 with plenty of flooring.

can someone tell me what's wrong with my 1.8L car seeing as i hardly ever vtec it.

You answered your own question.

Stop driving like a friggin nanna and shift gears correctly.
read your manual for recommended shift points or just take it to 5k average on shifts :)

I did 550 just before on my GLI, 41L to refill it full. Not too shabby.

I have no idea how bogans are okay with driving around with 60L Commodores getting 450K's to a tank. Sure the V8's are fast, but I'm talking about the 6's. Slow, sound like shit, look like shit, and still get ****ed up fuel Economy.

can get that down as low as 6.1 freeway (adel- melb).

try give your car a service, get some new oil into it as it sounds like you drive hard. new filter to get rid of the metal shards. plugs, air filter etc.

No use ecu modding until you have something to mod.

as for roos. they are nothing its koalas yo have to watch out for.

490km on my last tank when the fuel light came on. Prev 540-550km with the orig EG si zc engine/gearbox setup pre B16a conversion. BP ultimate mostly, vortex98 at times.

EG5 B16A2 with 107.7kw atw, type R cams, ITR IM+TB crome ecu tuned by DynoDave. ITR g/box 4.785FD.

I usually potter around traffic, change up at 2.5-3Krpm and I dont blip throttle for the sake of it nor I sit in traffic idling a lot. Prob 20-30 full throttle 8.5k rpm shift ups every tank interval.

interesting numbers there.
What are peoples numbers daily vs highway driving ?lower constant rpms equates to better economy , and varible speeds and rpms equates to more fuel used.
i have a eg hatch with a b18c7 ,I get about 300ks from 20l around town ,
and about 750km from 38l (full tank). quite a difference.

one thing i hope you all are checking is your tyre air pressure - it has a BIG relevance to fuel economy.

thats on the motorway....same fuel economy as my d16a8 before it. Almost same constant revs too. Off high-cam honda motors are quite efficient :)

New update...
Got 450km on 36ltrs driving to Canberra, running V-power.
Pretty happy now. When it was fully stock i was able to get 600km on 40ltrs!

But then again its not bad considering i've almost double the car's power

that's what i get also ;(
I rem when it was stock i use to get almost 500km per tank, on 40lts
now i get like 350km on 38ltrs

That's like 15L per 100km!
Shit that's even worse than when i'm hitting redline every gear. You need to take that to a good mechanic

DC5R 2003 - TUNED WITH HONDATA ECU, CAI.

FULL TANK give me about 420km - daily driving...

ANGRY STYLE - lowest i ever got 380kms.

best ever 480km

but this is till my fuel light lits... so yeah
this also depends on what fuel i use.. i remember my EK was best on Mobil.. MY dc5r does well with mobile but better on Shell.. I gotta say BP ultimate gave me shit fuel economy and lower performance than shell..

vtec for cars now!!!
