tried screwdrivers, spanners, wd-40 etc..

anybody know how to overcome that spring loaded clip?

tried a socket set?
Use a spanner on the top to hold the clip or what looks like a nut to me and use a spanner on the bottom to loosen it.

If u could, can u get a better picture of it as its hard 2 see from this angle.

that isnt a spring loaded clip - the U piece is wedged into the design of the bolt , to "hold" part of the bumper or lip in place.

Just hold the edge with pliers and unscrew the lower section. Should be a 10mm socket piece and its done

sorry, not too familiar with the terminology!

you say hold down the edge, do you mean hold down the edge of the u clip and then use the socket peice whilst holding the nut?

yes - the edge that shows on the far right of the pic ( the U part) hold it firm with some pliers , and slowly turn the lower bolt with your FITTING socket or spanner. Should be a 10mm.

Remember , (from the face of the bolt)

RIGHTY - TIGHTY !
LEFTY - LOOSEY !

tried holding it with pliers (the red arrows in the picture), but it seems so tight that when I try and turn the bottom with my spanner the whole thing turns with it (even though I am trying to clamp it with pliers)

got it in the end. didnt end up needing pliers. used a ratchet at the bottom and a spanner up top. Thanks anyway!

^^ CORRECT !

you dont hold the top its just gonna keep spinning

btw, the nut and the clip were actually one thing. Clamping it with pliers or holding it with a spanner would have done the same thing!
