the ecu is located in the passenger side foot area. it is behind the carpet closest to the door just under the glove box. as for which wire is used to go to the Apexi computer im not sure

The EK ECU is located on the left side of the passenger footwell(i think),prob have to take off the bit of plastic & peel back the carpet to reveal it.

To install the RSM,there is no need to run the wires all the way to the ECU,just wire it into the back of the gauge cluster, much easier & closer to where u will install the RSM.

All the wires u need are at the gauge cluster,ie power, ground, rpm signal & speed signal, easy.

yea i thought of the back of the gauge cluster. i just needs to know which colour wire of the gauge cluster goes with power, ground, rpm signal and speed signal?

Take a good high res pic of the back of your cluster & post it up & i will tell u which wires.

I meant take a pic of the back of the cluster, the circuit board on nthe back so i can trace it out,it needs to be a good quality pic,so plenty of light & macro please.

Next time click the little yellow button(hover over it,it will say "insert image") in the reply box & put the url in there & the pics will come up in your post.

In the mean time i found 2 diff sources that suggest your wiring colours should be as follows.

Yellow >>>>> Ignition power +12V
Black >>>>> Ground
Blue/white >>>>> Speed signal
Blue >>>>> Tacho signal

Most hondas the tacho wire is blue & it sits in the left plug on the end of the plug.

Black is also always ground.

Just check the other 2 colours u have

EDIT: just noticed u worked out how to insert pics, lol.

Hey CRXer... how come in the manual says "when NOT cutting speed limiter" then...

RED >> IG POWER
YELLOW >> RPM
BLACK >> GROUND
PURPLE >> SPEED 1 INPUT

I'm a bit confuse cuz you says...

Yellow >>>>> Ignition power +12V
Black >>>>> Ground
Blue/white >>>>> Speed signal
Blue >>>>> Tacho signal

Here's the pix i just took:

Ahhhh.......now thems the pics i wanted to see.......

Lets see where were we...........

1st......your aussie EK(assuming u dont have an import) does not have a speed limiter,so u use the diagram for "not cutting the speed limiter",simple 4 wire connection.

2nd.........the colours u quote first are the RSM wire colours & they are correct. The colours i quoted are the colours of the wires found in the car,ie cluster wires.I got them from US service manual,so they could be different for your car, slightly.

Now that we have a pic of the rear of the cluster,I will point to the pins of the connector on the pic as shown below & it is then up to you to match that pin to the corresponding plug that goes in that hole,so u will then be able to determine the correct colour of the wire for your car,if the colours i give u are incorrect.

So for instance for the speed signal wire,u will count the 11th wire from the side of the plug that goes in that hole & that will be the correct wire & so on.

Heres the pic.......

Thanks for the pix but i actually finished installing. You were right with the colours of the wires in the car... lucky i didnt go ahead with other colours that i found from other sites..else... i think i would've spent hundreds of $$$ to get new ECU... then that would be a buggar!! This RSM is pretty kewl but now.. i gotta muck around with the settings and get use to it. sigh....

thanks for all ur help guyz !! :)

There'll be another person like me who wants to know the steps to install RSM... i'll come to u nex time 4 more help if ur up 4 it... lolz
