Civic EG hatch Side Strip removal ...

I see that a lot of you guys have removed the gunmetal colored side strip from your EG hatches.

Are they just stuck on with double sided tape ? Are there holes underneath ?

I'm guessing just running fishing wire underneath should get them off?
Just want to make sure before I try it.

i think that they have clips so u have to take your door trim off and push the clips out that makes them come off. thats how they are on ek civics so they should be the same on EG.

so those if you who have taken them off ... have you had to fill the holes and paint it again?

yep just use abit of filler and some paint

yeah theres holes under there,pretty ugly,you have to fill it in and paint over

oh well .. I"ll have to leave that will something needs to be painted.

yeah it looks clean but its expensive as you have to respray the whole side of the car unless you want to just fill it in and mask off the side and use dodgy touch up paint that is not going to blend with the other paint at all.

people usually only do it when you are getting a full respray.....or else it looks shit
