I was installing my Alpine head unit but instructions were not very clear. It says something about bending the tabs on the mounting bracket. Do I need to use any screw at all? There are 3 screws provided but the dash doesn't seem to have any holes for them. The stock unit is mounted on a metal plate which is then screwed onto the dash. Do I have to use this metal plate?

Seriously need help from those who have installed alpine head unit before. But if you have done your own installation please also give advice. Thanks in advance.

Note: Car is CD5 Accord

Mount the frame inside the dash and bend out the tab's to keep it secure as pictured.
Then the headunit should slide in and click in and lock.
Your instruction's should have a basic diagram?

its the "V" shaped tabs that u will bend in.

slide the frame into place & u will see which ones need to be bent to hold the frame in securely

Thats a GOLF 4 dash not a CD5 dash, he will not be able to do what your saying as there is no way of mounting a head unit without a dash fascia for the CD5...

push them in so when u slide the h/u in the clicks and hold in place. to remove them u would need to use the 2 metal "sticks" thats supplied with the cd player on each side so it unclips the player from the bracket!

Yeah I know how to do that part. The problem is mounting the sleeve (pictured above) to the dashboard.

I was just using that random pick to show how the frame secure's into the dash.
Thank's for your input.........

Interfooler the triangular tab's are the one's you need to bend.
Push it in till it sit's flush then see which tabs are suitable and bend them outwards securing the frame in.

with CD5 if you want to do it properly you need to buy the mounting bracket from Alpine if they still make one.....

you just cant use the mounting sleeve straight in to your CD5 without any modification.....

just contact ICACHA he can do it for you

Laski, Alpine do not sell them anymore, I got a couple of dash fascia's but they aren't for sale. Stinger have 2 different versions which will still do the job, they just aren't made from metal like the Alpine ones. :)

What happened to Nicko and that shitbox NSX subbox he wanted me to build? I bet he ran out of money and wanted to get sponsored :p hahahahahahaha
